I said who cares whether she is in ring or not.
Just depth. Stop making it sound like she’s a Rock or Austin type draw.

It’s easy to lose count of the amount of talent that has entered to the rock star debuts, but then fizzled into not much once the reality of consistent booking is required.

I agree, I think she’s not much more than pure depth. She was a thing when womens wrestling needed a “revolution” but has been far surpassed by superior talents in the industry.

I said who cares whether she is cleared or not. Yep good signing for their depth of talent but whether she wrestles or not really will make zero difference to their product. No one is going to be buying pay per views or jumping over to watch just because she’s on board.

She’s a good signing for depth for either off screen or in ring but that’s about it.

Says the guy defending the other company anytime someone criticises them for giving a title shot to a guy who isn’t even a wrestler, David Arquette-style. So you have little credibility to begin with.

Saraya has over 10 million followers across social media platforms. You can say that doesn’t matter, but you’d be wrong - they’re numbers that absolutely matter in 2022, and they lead to viewership which leads to ppv buys and then all the ancillary stuffy like video games, toys and tshirts (AEW is a tshirt company after all.)

Back to the ratings thread with you to discuss numbers that haven’t mattered in a decade.

Who is saying that? Stop trying to make out like she's nothing. She's a fairly big name who grew up in the business and loves it and it's great to see her back. Try not being stupid about things for a change.

How many of those 10 million followers are following Saraya to watch her wrestle that aren't already watching AEW.

The majority of Saraya's followers would follow her for her career ventures outside of professional wrestling. The majority of those followers would follow her due to her appearances on Total Divas/Bellas, her clothing & make up brands and/or her relationship with Ronnie Radke. Saraya is a social media influencer, but her audience isn't a typical "wrestling" fan and is unlike to convert her fans into watching AEW if they weren't already.

Saraya's in ring profile is relying on matches from 6+ years ago, she's currently a nostalgia act that got a one-off nostalgia pop. Let's wait until she does something in the ring before we suggest that she's going to increase PPV's buys.

Not really. Make ignorant, blanket statements in argument response to something no one has actually said and gets called out. Pretty easy to understand. Unless you're a WWE mark who's never here for anything but s**t stirring and to also be a biased ignorant clown.

The original comment was they didn’t think she was a big signing and that she was depth. Cue the peanut insults for some reason and whatever insecure replies followed. Now throwing the term Mark around like a wrestling insider with a more informed opinion, lol.

A lot of us like AEW, but geez some certain types of fans make it hard to enjoy. Ah well, keep trying I guess.

All I said was yep she’s a good signing for depth but she’s hardly a star that will make you tune in to watch a wrestling show.

How many of those 10 mil followers started following her with the pr0n controversy?

Some people here are so one sided it’s not funny, if the Bella twins returned on the other company people would be laughing saying who cares....

My original point was who cares if she’s cleared of not to wrestle she is depth for them either in ring or out of ring and that’s all. She’s no Brock Or even CM Punk where the return will make people tune in to watch AEW so how is it anything other than being a good signing for depth.

You referring to Logan Paul? Because I said I don’t agree with him being in a title match but I understand why they are doing it or have to do it (Saudi prince).

Last time I checked he’s signed to WWE and actually showed more talent and charisma than half the WWE and AEW rosters.......

That's purely because the Bellas stink. Paige returning to in-ring action in WWE after several years would be met with a positive reaction.

Saraya has only had one televised singles match since 2016.

What's your point?

Your comment was that Saraya has been out of the ring for “several years”. 6 + years is more than several.

I think it’s important that we don’t expect too much from her upon he return. Women’s professional wrestling has completely evolved since the last time Paige was a regular in ring performer, she’s not going to be having a 5 star classic with Toni Storm anytime soon

Someone needs to change the definition of several to around 7, because I keep using it like that.

So the same reason that people justify appearances by people like Logan Paul.

That's even if we accept the premise, which is ridiculous. The vast majority of her fans would be from wrestling or related ventures.

You’re underestimating the viewership of Total Divas—-when Paige debuted on Total Divas it was doing the equivalent ratings (both total viewers & demo) of Dynamite , except it was a predominantly female audience.

Shows like Total Divas get repeated on a loop in syndication and create loyal fan bases based on the genre that is interested in E! Drama, but not professional wrestling.

But as the WWE has learnt, crossover from E! doesn’t create to a huge spike in viewers of professional wrestling or we would see the return of the Bella Twins every few months.

I was excited seeing Julia Hart in such a prominent role, cos I think she’s the answer to the Malakai Black problem. Then the first time she’s really focussed on she overshoots the bump through the table and eats s**t hard.

I know Buddy isn’t in much of a spot at the moment, but imagine if someone had told you after being released by WWE that, within 2 years, you’d be acting as the catalyst for the final act in one of wrestlings great stories, and sharing a ring with STIIIIING! and Muta.

Action Bronson is actually a better wrestling name than rap name.

The Jungle Boy vs Fenix match was a banger, and I enjoyed that they found a new wrinkle in the battle royal (at least the start of it.)
Buddy is having a break now also. Had a bad injury recently didn't he? Won't stop the speculation that he might want to head back to the WWE considering his relationship with Rhea now.

My 3 favourite wrestlers over the 3 generations I've been watching can be narrowed down to Christian (most underrated of all time), CM Punk (Best of all time) and Buddy Matthews (Most important male Australian wrestler this century and probably longer).

2/3 of them could be gone from AEW within weeks and the other is injured long-term.

They are putting on great shows as a company, but man that hurts as a fan.
