Says it all Jack The Godfather not based on science or safety.
Sam has been right all along. Just Commandant Dan being a complete dickhead.

Sorry former minister, we aren't a state with a parliament. We have a committee filled with muppets.

First Hughesy, the Joe Hildebrand, now this guy.
You really follow some intelligent people there.
Time to get a quick back 9 in and hop off Twitter for a while.

Some of that is hilarious.

Golf isn't exercise, but walking is? I see. Never realised golfers don't walk. A lot.

Welcome to the 21st century where it is easier to belittle a person than to argue the point made.

This is a democratically elected official using parliamentary process to question decisions made. The purpose of our tax dollars.

Receives an answer all semi-intelligent people suspected. This farce of a government under Chairman Dan is making decisions on the fly, based off their own personal interests and not based on science.

But I guess it is easier to go the man and attack them as people hey Spazz?

What about schools. An utter shambles, the science shows children don’t transmit the virus. Schools closed.

The science doesn’t change. Schools open... but only if you’re prep, grade 1 or VCE. We are having the wool pulled over our eyes.

The content of the arguments matter though, not who makes them.

Might make people feel smug and superior to dismiss Newman out of hand (as ax example), but it doesn't mean he's wrong.

Quoting from David Leyonhjelm. Says it all.
Another who will attack the person rather than the opinion.

Translation: We can’t actually argue his point so I’ll discredit him.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens if the numbers of the homeless and those with depression spike, and along with that suicides.

Seeing as everyone is so compassionate and cares and everything, and every life is valuable, what happens if those numbers end up exceeding or even dwarfing actual COVID fatalities? I'm guessing the sound of crickets chirping.

There's sensible caution, and there's paranoia.

So there are no adults in schools? I guess children teach themselves. How the world has changed!

You have 1 adult in a room with a subsection of the population NOT TRANSMITTING the virus. So as long as you sanitise rooms and prevent teachers lounge mingling you should be able to safely teach.

Safer than a teacher going to the supermarket.

Teachers are in staff rooms that are often very small. Parents mill around dropping off and picking up kids after schools.

Okay so then justify based off the same science opening up schools to 4 out 13 year levels?

It is either safe or not safe. It was safe enough to teach kids of those who couldn’t home school. It is now safe to teach prep,1 and VCE. So tell me the science that states the other 9 year groups aren’t safe?

They're being cautious. They're doing it as a staged return. Makes perfect sense to me.

You obviously see the world in black and white terms. Fortunately the government doesn't.

No, I just see that they’re creating so much grey area that they become impossible to hold to account. We’re already reduced to an 8 person committee.

They need to be accountable for their actions.

It matters when they're paid to make them or just don't what they are on about.
Yeah Newman wasn't wrong. But in the big picture of things it's f**king golf.
It's like Morrison with the bushfires, the nitpicking about shit that ultimately matters f*k all to mostly push a political agenda.
That's all these people are doing.

What would you like? A royal commission? Golf clubs paid compensation?
Bag limits increased on fish to make up for the ones that weren't caught?

It's not about saying "these levels are safer to teach", but rather about not opening everything up at once and the mass movement that comes with approximately 1 million school age children & the commute for students, teachers & other staff, to & from school

They are implementing restrictions within the school environment such as no parents permitted on school grounds, I believe there's also limits on the number of adults permitted in areas like the staffroom as that's an area that will have social distancing measure requirements

This whole situation isn't black & white, but rather a shitload of grey that the experts are having to deal with also - trying to balance all that ain't easy

People are whipping themselves into a frenzy over very minor issues. Seriously, get a life! This is a short-term thing. The restrictions are already being wound back.

I can understand the Vic opposition trying to scare political points, but I don't think it's even working for them.

The one thing I did find funny with golf in a couple of other states were it was permitted (being deemed a form of exercise) - those playing were still permitted to use a golf cart but only one person per golf cart (may have varied between states)

Doesn't the use of a golf cart kinda counter the exercise argument - if ones playing golf for exercise than surely they'd also be walking the golf course, but if using a cart to get around then does it become more of a social activity which was against the ideas of lockdown?

The overwhelming majority that are whipping things up are simply pushing their agenda. Most are paid to do it but we've get Doc doing it for free.
Murdoch's getting some free labour.

Apparently Tim Smith is now making a play to be opposition leader in Victoria - surely no one in the Liberal party would be stupid enough to support him after his outburst on Sunday where he sounded like a spoiler child

I'm not saying Andrews has got everything right, but I'd rather go through tougher restrictions early and get on top of things, rather than sit back with a wait & see attitude. And surely one of the reasons we elect politicians is for them to make the tough decisions, even if they aren't always seen as a popular decision by a subsection of the community

I don’t care for whatever lame ass justification is made. It is either safe or it isn’t.

So in 3 weeks time it will be safe to have a million kids and teachers commuting across the state but somehow not now? We’ve had low transmission for a while and kids don’t transmit. So what science is likely to change in the mean time that makes that travel safe then but not now?

What I’m seeing is sheep mentality of mindlessly agreeing with the doctrine rather than thinking critically. They aren’t following the science and stats at all.

Since you seem to know so much, when are you nominating your political campaign?

You are being a sheep following your mates in the Liberals and Liberal Democrats.
