We started back a training later this season as a GF participant. I would anticipate that makes a difference.
Still, it seems so many of our players really didn't participate today. Both absolute times and relative placings possibly don't mean as much.

There'd be a few recovering from post-season minor surgeries who might not yet be ready to go flat out.

Other than the rolled gold standard:

Tom Phillips wins time trial

:)

That's the one that stood out for me. Hopefully it turns into greater game-time for him. Really excited about Sier.
Sier

and

Murphy

:)

Double Happy SV :)

There is a pic of Sidey hot on Phillips hammer. I wonder if there was an omission from that top ten list??
They are the 4 years of Phillips domination; a pic for each year.

Apparantely Crispy got some new tatts, not sure whether that was the reason he didn't train or not.

Unsure on them; but if he likes them

That’s fascinating.
Ofcourse conditions can dictate a few seconds here and there, wind, closed running track.
But the young ones ran terrific time (6.04).

Suggest in an all out race, I’d back Phillips (today) as he likely didn’t get out of first gear in today’s run.

But anything low 6 mins is very tidy.

By the way great pick up, the draft trial, and bringing it to our attention. Great comparison to look at.

Training Report: Monday December 3, 2018: Full List Time Trial
Cool & breezy 18

Perfect conditions for the time trial this morning, so no excuses.
Players began entering the arena at 9:40 ad once all in attendance, did a half lap run and then 20 mins or so of stretching at the MCG end.

Not Running Time Trial:

Sidebottom (due to house fire yesterday)
Langdon - was in attendance but stayed inside
Goldsack - did some drills & went inside
Adam Treloar - did some chatting on the sidelines and disappeared inside
Taylor Adams - did drills but not time trial
Wills - running with a trainer
Maynard - did some running with Macaffer
Crisp - not sighted
Greenwood - not sighted
Dunn - not sighted
Wells - not sighted
Broomhead - running recovery
Sharenberg - running recovery

Phillips used different tactics this year. Last year he sat in the pack and made a move later, but today he sprinted away from the start.
After 1 lap it was Phillips from Lynch and Quaynor and that's how it stayed for the next 3 laps.

Finishing order with times (last year's times in blue).

Most players have slipped in their times and I'm not sure why. They had a later finish to the year, but have come back at about the same time. Tyler Brown has improved substantially whilst Varcoe and mayne have come back in good shape.
Sier did not do the time trial last year according to my notes, but even if he had, I doubt he would have achieved today's result.

A few photos to follow.

Yeah. I watched him do it this morning, it was a breeze. If he had someone on his tail, he would have stepped up the acceleration on his running, but there was no need. He definitely could have ran a minute off that time for sure.

But you're only trying to beat your own time in a time trial, it's not a race.

A little worrying about some of those slips in time. Grundy in particular is a big gap from last year.
Grundy’s TT times have people concerned every year. You’d think that people would learn by now that a 2km TT means nothing in context to running out a game of football. Grundy has been living proof of that for the last two years.

Just how tall is Murphy officially?
He’s growing so fast that an official measurement can’t be taken because it becomes redundant within 24hrs.
