I'm not speaking to the result on Friday night.

I'm just speaking generally in relation to Wells and the best time to "risk" him. I would have thought that the final match of Home and Away is better than the first final no?
I understand the reasoning but I'd prefer that we test him out in the VFL first, then see how he pulls up.

I also don't want to mess with the form of the blokes he'd replace.

I’m not really sure of the logic in picking a guy you know is going to be a risk either week? Devils advocate he goes down early and because of the reduced rotations Moore is overloaded resulting in another hamstring. It’s reasonably simple he’s not considered until he’s no longer a risk and even then he’s got to rely on others losing form.

Let's say we do the unthinkable and play DeGoey, Moore, Stevo, Aish and Wells in the first final. What are the odds that all 5 see out the four quarters? If history is any guide, one of Moore or Wells would go down during the first quarter.
It won't happen. As desperate as we might be, taking one quarter of the team 'underdone' into a final is lunacy.

I would take DeGory, Moore and Stevo without a game under the belt.

Looks like Moore and Stevo will have one game each before the first final. DeGoey with his x-factor is a straight in, him one on one is a defender's nightmare.

But if we play both Wells and Moore, according to your logic, one of them will make it through the game. That’s a win!

It’s funny.

Barrett on MMM literally just said what I did lol. Play him Friday night rather than risk the breakdown in a final.

AFL is a level up from VFL. He’s retiring anyway. Just put his body to the real test and see if it passes.

– did a lot of the drills but didn’t take part in any match simulation. No chance this week.
Darcy Moore – did everything asked of him. Was ready to go last week. A very good thing for this week.
James Aish - did all of the drills and the match play. Looks ready to me. They will probably wait until finals and it will be a needs basis I’d think.
Daniel Wells - one of the last onto the track, but did all the work and played in the match sim. Had a few touches and all were quality. Can’t see him getting a game though.
Ben Reid – one of the first onto the track and immediately began running laps. Did the drills but when match play started he moved to modified training with De Goey.
Brayden Sier – did full training and moved unhindered. Wills has his spot and Brayden is going to have to bang the door down to get it back. Either that or Bucks’s injury curse continues and he gets a game by default.

There were two 100m sprints and they were hotly contested. Howe won the first one and was very pleased with himself. The second was almost a dead-heat between Stevo and Darcy.

Match Play:
Roughead went to full forward and played against Keane. Keane showed a bit and was able to run off him. In marking duels it was no contest. Roughie easily took contested marks and slotted a nice goal. From one of them.
At the other end of the ground, Moore played full back and moved well.
Adam Treloar had plenty of the ball and used it well. This Pie is on fire.
After the match play Varcoe and Wells came over the Glasshouse side and did kick to kick.

I dare not say it, but the list is looking pretty good right now; especially with Darcy Moore fit for the finals.

I’ll try to answer any questions.

Just a correction, I don’t think Aish did match simulation - did the competitive work in 3 groups before though. Could be wrong, maybe I didn’t see him, but I thought he was left out.

Agree that the list is actually starting to look kinda good. Just need DeGoey to take the next step.

Stephenson slightly different. As fully healthy.
And his getting a game in the VFL. (Maybe another game in week break bye pre finals?

De Goey, Moore you risk anyway as both to important.

I’d risk Wells as it were. Take even a half if it was offered now.

Thursday is going to be interesting.

I don't think that adds much weight to your argument although there was that 1 time he was right.

EFA ;)

If Wells plays at any stage during the finals we have to be in real trouble. He has not been on the park in three years.

Forget about it. Finals is no place for an aging broken down player. I don’t care how good he was, and it was very good. He just ain’t ready for the rigours of finals football.

I’d rather we went for Broomhead or the younger Brown over Wells. At least they have been on the park. Risk too big when combined with Moore and JDG.

Jen2310 was at training and has been very quiet. Just saying...
That came as a surprise to me. I didn't see it happen, so I can't comment who was the culprit. lol I was chatting to Apples and Ben Collins, so I may have been distracted and missed it.

Apples with the sprints at the end, were they the same players twice, or two different sprints?

Broomhead didn't finish VFL game 2 weeks ago at Vic Park. Had warm up jacket on 3Q time huddle?

It is not funny when Barrett agrees with you, but rather distressing.

Stevo back- laughter and merriment
Moore back- giggles and hugs all round.
