Missed the game. Shocking result. Poor ol Ratts. What’s he got himself into.
I never got the hype around him. Especially from blues supporters. Yeah our club probably did wrong by him but he doesn't seem to be a top tier coach. Saints should be far better than this.

I always find that when hawthorn, cats, and Richmond are challenged.. An opposition player gets taken out of the game.

And the player that does it tends to get away with it.

Maybe clubs like Carlton and saints should look at that.

Ratts has to take some blame for that I reckon.
Too much one way..
Ok, that is sad. Ratts should be a lot better by now with the experience he has. I assumed the thrashing was purely because they just didn’t turn up rather than a coaching issue.

Too many knives out for Ratts. ffs this guy is a club champion, he coached the team we had to the best of their abilities, he then got shafted by our board, whom in hindsight made a huge mistake. For some kicking Ratts seems like a sport, something we do to distract us from our own difficiencies. Looking back and not forward is like slalem skiing in mud.

To be fair, the season is still young and they were a Basket case under a stale Richo. It's The Saints list management and salary cap issues that are the most troubling.

Dads army 2. Only difference, the players at Geelong went for a last effort at success, the Saints guys went for the retirement cheque. Hmmm....just like ol days. I like.

Bradley Hill = Blake Acres, Pick 10, Pick 58, and a future second and fourth round pick, 900k x 5 :$

Awful price to play for someone who's only accolades are playing in 3 flags after 9 years in the system.

Hope he enjoys his quality retirement package at the Saints. :thumbsu:

Saints have way too many players from other clubs, they’re the United Nations of the AFL. Pretty strange when St Kilda legend Dan Hannebery starts handing out jumpers to debutants. Apparently their nothing without their historic spiritual leader in Paddy Ryder. Dougal freaking Howard is their vice captain after 20 games. It’s beyond farcical.

Well... Saints have gone to sh*t...

85 pts and counting shortly after a 75 pumping from the druggies a couple weeks back...

This result reflects poorly on West Coast and the way they stopped as if shot last week. It seems they need some good fortune to wind their attack and enthusiasm up.

I'm not sure we will experience a thrashing like that this year. One of the first signs of a team coming into contention is that they don't suffer thrashings anymore. Some top teams have had an off night thrashing but 2 of them, one against Essendon is great cause for concern.

Saints quickly checking the fixture! “When do we play Carlton?”

On no doubt they will play like millionaires against us.

And long serving players like Jack Newnes weren't in their future best 22 plans. They'd be better off with him coming off a wing than Brad Hill.

Have often thought the same. Seems to be a tactic to turn the tide. It works often too.
Wish I had one of those brains that could real off a load of examples but alas... 🍺 🥃

You have to admire the Tigers, (vomits in mouth), but you get the same thing each week from them, whether they lose (rarely) or win, their effort is a non negotiable. Be relentless with your pressure with out the ball, help your team mates, run in numbers, if someone has a down game, someone else will step up. They pressure teams until they break and then put their foot on their throat and hold it there.

Your team is only as good as the opposition allows them to be, the Saints midfield were under the pump all night and couldn't feed their runners, whereas our midfield makes them look like millionaires.

The Tigers game plan is taxing and I didn't think they could keep it going for a year, yet they have been doing it for 5. Then they have Martin, who is the cream on top. They definitely play like a champion team, they went through some real crap last year in the hub and still managed to win the flag.

would you rather take the Hawks 13-15 or the current Tigers generation?

Reading some of the posts in saints gameday thread...I'd say a very grubby place. Needed a washdown after a minute or 2 over there.

Their supporters are equally frustrated .. always promise .. but fail to deliver.
