Game Day Around the Grounds - Rounds 1 - 5

I read an article on him this week (can’t remember who wrote it now) that said when he plays, it’s the equivalent of a non diabetes player playing through a hangover.

If true, I can’t imagine him being long for this league. That must be bloody awful to have to try and play through.
With good management I’ve seen successful sportsmen with type 1 but then again everyone is different. I think he’s got other issues holding him back too though. Just makes too many basic skill errors. Dropped chest marks etc.
Didn’t see yesterday’s game at all - what the **** happened to the Saints? The Roos were coming off the heavy track up north as well.

Completely surprised by that result.
Richardson was out coached. His game plan was expose he had no plan b and his players literally gave up. The last quarter started and there was only 11 points in it. north put on 7 goals. The saints 0.

Oh I agree about that. Speaking purely in football terms, I don’t think he’s anything special. He lumbers around the ground like Levi used to.

Interesting, didn’t realise it was that close at 3/4 time. Not a great look for Richo in that case. If he doesn’t turn it around, I don’t see him being there this time next year.

Richo certainly has to be under the pump but the spotlight could be redirected to the recruiting staff. Although I think development is an equally big issue.

They’ve got no money and richo was signed to an extension. If they sack him they have to pay him out and pay a new coach. I don’t think they’ve got the coin to do that. Afl house publicly called them out telling them to get ‘their house in order’ just before the season. Looks grim. They’re seemingly teetering closer to the edge than most any other club.

I must have missed it - when was Richo resigned and how long for?

I do remember the public statement made about their finances. It’d be incredibly poor management if they were now unable to sack the coach due to finances. There’s something very wrong going on at that club.

The worst thing for the Saints today was that North didn’t even really play well. They are really looking at a rebuild of a rebuild, no game breakers or team lifters at all. Whilst they are blowing pick 25 on Long (in a deep draft), we recruited Garlett with the last pick of the draft.

Their entire list management (including some ridiculous contracts) has been way off. 2 picks inside the top 15 before this year, they needed to nail their selections, which they simply haven’t done.

Also, their coach has the personality of a clothes peg.
Clothes pegs can be interesting.

I still can't believe how poor the Saints were yesterday, diabolical .
Btw it's a bloodbath over on their board.

Yeah and they were all bitching about us playing the opening game the season as we would be flogged. Karma is a bitch.

Just saw the Broomhead injury earlier, that looked pretty ugly. Not as bad as some of the soccer one's I've seen, like Cisse and Eduardo, but still pretty bad.
