Kingsley approached Monty and he declined so I assume hes staying on.

AFLW 2024 - Round 9 - Indigenous Round - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
The silence of deafening, maybe you will hear what happened at a sportsman’s night, but if it didn’t happen the club or someone would come and kill the ‘rumors’Lots of rumours about Schofield and his tenure at Port and how how it ended, but have they ever been backed up with facts? It gets talked about as factual on here but not sure that’s the case.
That's a succinct way of putting it. My understanding is along similar lines- Schofield understood tactics, while Ken thought they were a small mint.I heard that he told ken there's more to coaching tactics than "working hardery". Daddy donuts told him to "have a good day"
love this comment!Schofield understood tactics, while Ken thought they were a small mint.
I'm not saying I doubt sobrave, but this so oncisely epitomizes what Hinkley lacks you almost wonder whether it has to be true. Hinkleys whole ethos especially on game day seems to be stick to the game plan and if you work harder you will defeat the opposition. As if our gameplan, our football strategy, is infallible. So many times we lose games because we lose games because lack versatility, a plan B, or a move is made a quarter after it was blindindly obvious one needed to be made.I heard that he told ken there's more to coaching tactics than "working hardery". Apparently a host of ex-Port players, including AFL ones such as Braddles, Delaney, Rohan Smith, et al were given special guided tours of the new development thus far, and the refurbished Williams stand upgrade, etc.Putting better resources into development eg Basset to SANFL development and coaching would be a good thing.
Imagine Carr, Graham, Schofield and Rutten coming across dreaming I know. A fresh reboot is needed.
Part of me thinks was the precinct delivered at the right time? Could the funds be used better elsewhere?
I heard this live at the weekend. The Carr speculation appears to have some traction/credibility.
"Dockers football boss Peter Bell made clear the club would release assistant coach Josh Carr to Port Adelaide given he has family considerations with four young children and a South Australian wife."

Add Yze, Solomon and Hansen to that quartet, and you'd have a damn good coaching panelImagine Carr, Graham, Schofield and Rutten coming across
Carr his highly rated at Freo:
So, in summary, a professional coach, in the PAFC tradition- the kind we always had until the monorail salesman we have at the moment.
- Excellent tactician
- Attack-oriented
- High standards and expectations
- Demands excellence
I remember Carr being part of the radio coverage for Port games while he was coaching the Roosters, he was generally pretty underwhelming with his comments. Hopefully he's sharpened up a bit since then.
I agree with a lot of that, and really, regardless of who we eventually get, I won’t be getting too excited too soon.Saw sweet *all of this on Saddee night 'cept when the game was done n dusted.
Is/was he Freo's mid-field coach because they were walloped there by Collingwood. Look it's probably not on Carr what Freo served up but
sheesh both their finals were hard to watch. Stop start constipated stodge ball footy. It seemed like they were beaten before the first bounce.
Timid twitchy footy overseen by a coach who just sat there watching it unfold. The end result flattered them. If Collingwood hadn't kicked
something like 2-12 in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs it would've been a massacre. Seems like he's coming our way so it's arms folded in wait n see
mode for me. I didn't pay any attention to his time at Nth Adel or how the Roosters played under him. I read on these threads plenty of
posters are happy to have him... well I hope they're are right.

Are we going down the "WhO's OuT tHERe ThAt's BeTTer" rabbit hole?? I'd take Ralph Carr instead of Josh Carr right now. Come on people. Stockholm Syndrome has no place at Alberton. We must move Hinkley on now.

I don’t think any of us have doubts about Ken having to go, but I think we're just a bit cautious about getting our hopes up too soon. Were bowled over by it all.
Seems like it's a bit of a conduit for them to re-connect with the club even more, so I think the timing was about right for that part of it.
Rohan Smith would know about being bowled over in that space, in its previous form. A long time ago, after a premiership win, I saw him perform a kind of controlled fall, his bald head sliding across a wall until it and his hands found a corner where he was able to gain some... stability.
Stairs were the natural enemy of Rohan Smith. Late on a Saturday night, usually
