I get the reasoning behind them - make it as hard as possible for them to spread their hate. But yeah, banning symbols can only do so much. By itself it's almost insubstantial plus it has unintended side effects like that bloke at the pro-Palestinian rally getting done for spreading Nazi hate for having a blue swastika on the Israeli flag instead of the Star of David.
