Funny how the best bowler gets the pill in his hand and suddenly it looks fine.

I'll wait till seeing Bumrah bowl before judging if it's a dud or not.

Imagine sitting down next to this skinny lad. You'd think he was was a student. Pretty intelligent. Couldn't catch a ball to save his life.

Nope, just elite talent.

A fantastic performance and in a series where the batting has been pretty dour, he's been the highlight for me. Him and Cummins a pretty clear talent edge on the rest of the field IMO.

(Quoting myself like a flog but I don't care, go **** yourself. :thumbsu:)

He sounds very honest and humble. Let's the ball do all the talking.

See, you don't need to be a dick to be a quality, feared, fast bowler.

To be honest only his first wicket was a good ball the other 3 were legside delivers where a team with a 300 run lead were playing lazy shots.

But yep been our best bowler by far.

You not see the tactics when they were explained by Trent Copelend? we stacked the legside, put in a leg gully then bowled at the line of the body knowing the lndian's penchant for wristy flicks off the pads. That leg gully wasn't put in place for nothing. Flicks went straight to him.

Yep mark taylor of all people leading the charge as well which was laughable.
Got my Marks mixed up.

Forgot all about Tubby after Nine lost broadcasting rights.

Yep. Leg gully, fwd square catching, catching mid wicket, fine leg. Use Cummins who slides and angles it in, and most importantly ye went wide of the crease at delivery. That was the plan to a tee.

Still, to get 3 that way is amazing; not sure I've ever seen that before.

All of a sudden it is a rubbish road again. o_O

lol those pesky groundsmen must be against us Aussies and changed the whole pitch between innings!

:tearsofjoy:
Nah nah nah, it's all a conspiracy to send Boxing Day to perf. Did Melbourne cover their whole crowd aggregate on day one ?

Dennis Lillee was a softly spoken nice guy when he started out. It will be interesting to see if Bumrah's manner alters as he begins to dominate.
Yes. I'm certainly not saying it's a terribly bad thing. Love seeing it, just doesn't suit some guys.

It's called TEST cricket.
I had to just put that Muppet on ignore. First one ever. I'd advise a lot of people doing the same if you don't want to be deeply disturbed by stupidity.

If they bring that in then flat wickets and draws will become the norm.

That would be going too far but I would like to see something to give the side who loses the toss a bit of assistance

The side who loses can make any changes to their X1 they want after the toss is one that wouldn't be too bad , drop their spinner for another quick or bring in a more defensive minded bat rather than an attacking one

Might skew the advantage of winning the toss just enough to add some interest while not messing with the game too much

But test matches that are decided by the coin toss are fun..

They got lucky against a lethargic Indian batting side that thought they had the match won.
Won't effect the result though, India by miles.

Incidentally, tomorrow is the 90th anniversary of the Test with the highest successful run chase ever at the MCG- 332 made by an England team including Hobbs, Sutcliffe and Hammond...

Not that incidental when the tests at the MCG historically were played over the new year period and then changed to Boxing Day...not like those dates change, nor overlap...

I’ve been a big fan of this one. If you lose the toss, you should be able to make one change to your starting eleven.
