If Baz nominates the national draft, the most he can get is 3 years on a draftee wage right?
No, you nominate your own contract terms and whoever drafts you is obligated to pay them

Sam Edmund and Gerard Whateley talking about Butters moving to a certain western suburbs club at the end of next season as a free agent. We’ll pack your bags Bailey Smith.

That’s a bit rich considering Patrick Dangerfield & Jack Bowes were two of the biggest lopsided trade deals in living memory.

Dangerfield, the first free agent a club ever had to trade for, righto.

I assume you were also outraged when Geelong only got two late first rounders for the best player of his generation in Ablett Jr? And when Richmond, coming off a flag and a prelim appearance, landed AA forward Tom Lynch for free?

I don’t understand why you are upset, wouldn’t you rather get good outcomes for your club and be seen as difficult
To deal with than get shit outcomes and be seen as good blokes?

Can’t really complain about Ablett compo considering what you guys got him for.

Or that the whole nature of compensation picks for losing uncontracted players to expansion teams was explicitly tied to equalisation, to try to counterbalance the fact that the bottom teams lost out on good young talent through mechanisms such as giving the equalisation teams the first three picks in the draft, the mini-draft and allowing pre-listing of the Jan-April born 17-year-olds. Geelong might not have gotten the ideal compensation pick for Ablett but it's also far less costly to move from pick 18 to pick 25 than it was for bottom teams to move from pick 3 to getting the equivalent young player value of pick 10 in the draft.

That’s the PSD, I’m pretty sure there’s a cap in the national draft.
Luke Ball put $500k on his head when he went into the ND. That's how Collingwood got him.
He ended up playing his second year there on base salary.

Baccas is a Bulldogs town as it’s the closest club, and he and his family were diehard Bulldogs supporters growing up.
1. He ain’t from Bacchus, he is from Darley and whilst they are close, anyone from their or aware of the suburbs know that you don’t say your from Bacchus if he is from Darley
2. Bacchus ain’t a bulldogs town, it’s just as much a Cats town

Darley is a suburb of Bacchus Marsh. If you are from Darley you are literally from Bacchus Marsh.

My guess is it will end up being Bailey Smith for a F1 and that's about it.
The Dogs will want more, but Baz is coming off an ACL

Glancing at the Dogs board, a lot them don't actually seem to want Sam De Koning because he's a particular need.

Their primary motivation seems to be some sort of misguided 'payback' against Geelong - "you stole one of ours so we'll steal one of yours".

That’s not the case at all actually.
Few posters just wanna see the club have some spine and to go out and make moves on contracted players. Bevo has said himself he doesn’t like meeting players during a season - those days are over.

Bacchus and Darley are essentially the same place. And no, it’s a Bulldogs town.

Source: I live near there

I might be underselling it a bit, but knowing Geelong, they’ll probably send Mackie into the Smith negotiations in a dishevelled state & stinking of his own feces. He’ll then rub an onion in his eyes & begin to tearfully explain that despite their on-field successes, the club is in fact on its knees & at risk of handing back its license.

He’ll then proceed to show the Dogs an edited highlights package of every turnover Bailey has committed in his AFL career & insist they’re actually doing them a favour by offering a late 4th rounder, while demanding a future 3rd back.
Bloody school holidays

Good wiki search
