Yeah im thinking sumich let it slip and young tried to use it to his advantage.
It was Interesting to hear ballas say he has never asked to be traded

Ballas said his manager started scratching around at other clubs.

The whole thing was much ado about nothing. The only rumours he put to bed was there is no friction between himself and Fyfe and his relationship with Ross is as strong as ever.

So basically it was a bit of fluff but Ballas did say his Manager has been asking questions for him but he has technically asked for a trade. He doesn't hate Fyfey.

Was there anything else of note. Thanks fellas.

He still loves Ross.
He loves Freo and he is contracted for next year and is looking forward to next season.
Technically, no, he hasn't asked for a trade. The extent of him leaving Freo is his manager scratching around at some other clubs; flimsy stuff. I don't think the slags were even mentioned so that bit was probably pumpkin head wishful thinking.

No evidence really, but when you have your career ended for you in such a publicly ignominious fashion, its going to put you amongst the strong suspects.

Didnt he have to leave after he threatened to put Lyon through a window in response to a Lyon verbal tirade to the coaching staff?

Which would still put him as a strong suspect - but is that having your career ended for you in a publicly ignominious fashion?

Once you're sent on gardening leave that it surely, you're damaged goods for everyone. Similar (at a slightly lower lower level) in a fashion to what we did to Harvey. The way it went down said to the footy community; we turfed this guy because he is simply not up to it (which was true as it happened).

From the only genuine insider on our board, bond_007

I'm sure the older posters here will be able to vouch for his insider-ness.

Still, I completely understand if anyone calls bullshit on what he was told.

I just thought I'd post it as I'd read (on this board) that Suma was sacked for incompetence (on similar) without anyone questioning if it actually happened that way.

No really. It happens all the time in banking, legal, finance and consulting type industries. It's usually so you don't steal clients and/or insider knowledge.

We probably are in the process of finalising list management, drafting and trading strategies as well as trying out new game plans and we didn't want Sumich to take that info to any new club.

I suppose him being let go for incompetence might just be what we want to hear; bit of confirmation bias. He's never seemed that sharp to me and that would just validate it. Equally he did manage to keep his job for 4 years with us.
The flip side it is it does seem like awfully big coincidence for this all to happen within days of the internal review coming out. It also spins the event as being precipitated by a crazy Ross Lyon, which seems a bit convenient.
