Autopsy Freo outclassed by the Crows

Winning footy is generally attractive footy. The wins over Melbourne and Brisbane were fantastic last year.
Some of the wins in early 2015 were great and the 2013 Prelim is many peoples favourite Freo game.
Wouldn’t want any of these guys at the club as senior coach tbh.
Simpson because I don’t like him. His ego has risen through the roof to match the w**kers he’s currently coaching.
Don’t rate the other three as coaches. Think we’re missing Mundy’s on field leadership and having an actual winger in Acres more than Josh Carr tbh.
We’re probably better off going with someone relatively unknown to the bigger names at this point. The former coaches that were actually good were all snapped up last season. Always saw Lyon and B.Scott as guys that overperformed with the squads they had - seems to only be continuing this year. Clarkson is a great coach who also had a great squad but not sure he’s as far in front of Lyon as people think.
The first month is the worst time to get the teams that missed the 8 the previous season because they're fit and ready to go. Gold Coast are an example almost every year, they start with 3 or 4 wins in their first 6 or 7 games then only win a couple more for the year. The Saints will probably taper off and battle to make the 8 this year.
In a 2 team town where 70% of the population and 80% of the media support the enemy you need a big personality like RTB, Clarkson, etc.
Would be a real culture shock for anyone who has never left the east coast to coach Freo.

Josh Carr - totally unproven.
If the club is going to make any change and I would say only if the season goes totally pear shaped and we end up bottom 6 we need to be ruthless like we were when we got Lyon and aim for any of the following:
Chris Scott
Damian Hardwick
Luke Beveridge
Sell the first two on the youth we have in the side compared to their respective clubs and the challenge of winning Freo's first flag.
Just like Lyon right? Seems to be doing ok. He's not new and exciting, but Buckley clearly has a very intelligent football brain and I don't see why he couldn't do well with a second stint.
Buckley was more defensive than Lyon
No idea, but its not my job to know. I knew literally nothing about Macrae as a coach until last year.
Also, I said when JL gets sacked if we keep up this ****. Pretty sure that won't be before mid 2024.
Being a dominant defensive team is fine and attractive enough as a fan of that team. If you're only mediocre to good its still a bit ****. Compare Freo first half of 2022 to second half of 2022.

Hardwick could be on the outta end of this season. If he is free you bite the bullet.
We've set a very low bar when people think Hughes and Banfield played well, yes they tried and were better than others but don't kid yourself they didn't win their position.
Yes, it’s a poor look for our mids when our half forwards were the ones winning us possession on the half back line.
Well, we kinda have an unbeaten coach on our staff already.

And then they wonder why there is no one left in the forward line. So many times you see they have problems clearing the back half and everyone pushes up. If they somehow then manage clear it there is no one ahead
Out of interest because Yze's been mentioned - Melbourne's current coaching panel is Goodwin, Yze, Chaplin, Richardson, Williams.
Freo's is Longmuir, Graham, Corey, Boyd and Mzungu.
Before I get skewered for defending Longmuir, he doesn't exactly have what you'd call an experienced/battle-hardened footballing hierarchy around and above him. It's not much of a secret that Hardwick was Centrelink material until Richmond gave him quality assistants.
Problems run a bit deeper than just the senior coach imo

Too easy. I'm a Ross Lyon fan.
Coach is the most difficult position we have had to fill at the club and we have been successful once. And I don't think we have made ourselves attractive to potential coaches with how we handled both Harvey and Lyon. Any of our coaches in fact. We have verged on disgraceful.
The key factor in my opinion is experience. Maybe Pyke would have been a fit? Recycled coaches aren't doing too bad this season so far.

..Mel, Rich, Hawks became powerhouse when some assistants joined them. Would like to help JLO in what ever way club can. But I mentioned Yze if the worst outcome happen.

Have a look at his assistants, they make him look good.
Look at the playing talent we have lost, or trades done, that’s sackable.
This club, is it’s own worst enemy.
