Agree, but no one is knocking.

We could rejig and have Hogan play his role, and Cox come in to play Hogan’s role I suppose but until Sturt’s right or even Kirsten, there isn’t a like for like option.
However, the foward line operated much better with Cox in last week and whilethat may be due to the different game styles of the opposition, it could be also due to Coxes better contested marking meaning he draws more attention incontests which frees up tabs andhogan more. Also loved his deft taps and other one percenters which mark him as absolutely class.

Conca done a few really hard things last night that set us on our way, true he and Colyer to a certain extent seem to go MIA at times but then bob up to do something great. Back line were fantastic, mids messed it up a lot especially when Fyfe kept running past the ball, not once, I saw him do it a few times, maybe it’s the TV making the distance between player and ball. And young Wally Matera had a night out. Well done Barra, hopefully there’s a new 5 year contract stuck to your locker tomorrow.
And seeing the Mundy kids with a footy in hand sure warms the cockles.

And while I am here........
Being based on the East coast I am quite comfortable with watching on Fox. I don't often get the 7 stream and when I do, it is Basil.
Having the Channel 7 box infested with people who don't do any research and rely on stats is not good enough. Calling Silvagni out during a game is disgraceful.

Talking about Alex Pearce coming off 2 years out of the game reeks of incompetence, he's been back for 12 months.

When you have Matthew Richardson in the box barracking in fact begging for the Bulldogs to get an advantage it makes me want to stab my ears with a rusty hack saw. He was so bad it must have been a directive from a producer to keep the Melbourne fans happy.

Eat a Dick channel 7.
yeah agree :( I am not one to bag commentary generally, but last night was just Sh*t!....Hambling?!...I am not sure who the bloke with the boring drawl was, but dear god, wouldnt hurt to sound a bit excited every now and then....Maybe Brayshaw?...

Lots of examples of players not wanting to crowd the contest resulting in two players effectively watching the opposition pick the ball up without contest.

I think I'd rather that than two of our players trying to beat each other for the ball, allowing one of ours to win and the other to receive the handball and clear.

Ethan: he’s come on so much. Very assured in the contest. The whole backline was great, with Nyhuis and Hamling leading it

All our tall forwards didn’t fire but the two keys got enough ball to break the game open which is encouraging

Hughes has quickly gone from BF’s changes for next week = first out, to an accepted best 22 player.

Quiet achiever, tick from me.

It was good and highlights just what he can bring.
I really want cam to succeed , so much natural talent.
That said he was still dissapointing for mine(maybe still bit crook but he put his hand up for selection so no excuses)

Don't agree with that, a player will always put his hand up to play and can't really blame them for it. The onus is on the medical and coaching staff to make the correct call. I've been sick for over a week from the flu, I think he may have been rushed back too soon.

The dogs came into the game thinking that they had to shut down Tabs/Hogan. Which is correct. But they focussed too heavily on them. Even with our talls out of contention, our talls still got a couple, but the dogs left the gate open for our smalls.

Watching Hogan and Tabs, it's like they're BFF, wouldn't be surprised if Ross tells them at training to stop platting each others hair/making daisy chains. They're constantly trying to pick each other out as a target - which is good, but maybe a bit too much and sometimes missing better options.

Wilson had some beautiful kicks in this game. Probably the play of the day was Wilsons kick to Walters where he landed on his back with the mark.

Until we improve the midfield (another year into Cerra, Brayshaw, Darcy, Blakely back in, maybe a trade etc), we are probably going to be flat track bullies but not able to consistently win against the competitions best teams.

Beating a top 4 side in GWS at a ground they almost never lose at = not flat track bullies.

Good to see Tucker and Hughes begin to look like they believe they are part of the team. Both were very very good last night. Not sure what game some were looking at.
Players like, the two mentioned,Switkowski, Nyhuis, Brayshaw and Cerra were very very good in a team effort.
I have said it before, some of our "supporters" give our players more of a hard time than the Yella supporters.Always looking for a kicking boy.

Not really when it comes to illness.
A lot would depend on the player.
I mean the flu is really something you can’t measure- aka standard hammy is 3 weeks give or take, flu is not quite as lineal.
Yes the player generally does (put his hand up) but he also owes it to the team to do what’s right.

Cam obviously said he was fine , if he then goes out and plays a bad game he then doesn’t have the fall back excuse of saying “well actually I was still a bit tired from the flu “.-not that I’m sure he’s actually said that but as a supporter I don’t believe we can give him that leniency either

Nyhuis had 10 intercept marks, Hughes had 9 plus they both had a lot of contested possessions. They combine perfectly with Ryan and Wilson with their size, ground ball ability and disposal.

Don’t touch the backline.

Conca and Colyer, although weren’t stand outs, won important balls at crucial times and should stay in the side. Colyer looks like he’s getting better with each game.

Lol at people calling for Tucker to be dropped. He’s had a really consistent, under the radar season.

Lobb got towelled up by English and this won’t be popular but except for his first quarter goal, Fyfe had an average game IMO.

If there has to be a change to get Blakely in, Cerra is the one I’d drop back to WAFL to get some form.
