Have it from good source that Bicks has the job as new 5AA drive show host for next year.

Would put it in asst coach thread but the new job may create some discussion in itself
Ok, I will bite. Who's on the outer?

Wow that's big! Fingers crossed he replaces Bone, but I have a feeling that it might be Rowey has he has mentioned his contract is up for renewal and Bone hasn't mentioned the same.

Interesting. I do recall somebody on here saying quite a while ago that one of our assistants was eyeing a move into the media next year.

Yep that was me. I was told that although Bicks had a contract for next year, it was felt the best thing was for him to move and he was looking at going back into the media rather than coaching. Then I heard no more and I was starting to wonder if the media had rejected his return.

Good luck to him anyway, as I think he would have still been going, job at 5aa or not. :)

So if he is heading to the media, and is still contracted for next year, what does this mean for our Football Department spending and the impending cap?

When you quit a job, they don't continue to pay you.

I think I read somewhere that the situation with Sanderson doesn't apply to the cap because it was before a certain date. Can't remember for sure though.

This is what I'm hoping. Logically, you would think if a contract is settled before the cap comes into play, it shouldn't effect the cap even if the contract had been terminated early. But this is the AFL, and logic doesn't appear to come into it a lot of the time.
