Alright, SOS if you are reading this and FWIW: We want Lukosius ;)

In all honesty, with Lloyd and SOS two of the few footy administrators who've taken a keen interest in US Sporting Comps and NFL Draft Night, I'm confident that we will look to take full advantage. Then they can make a movie about it starring Kevin Cost...*

*I realise this idea may not be entirely original, but f*** it - Australian Draft Day Movie 2k19. Make it happen.

Who exactly is 'WE'?

Possibility to finish with Shiel, Setterfield and Walsh in navy blue by November?

There definetly a chance.

The possibility of 1&3 opens up Carlton to getting Walsh and both Kings.

Carlton to take Walsh with pick 1. GC will go with either Rankine or Lukosius at 2 meaning that pick 3 is incredibly valuable to Adelaide. They will have enough picks to trade for a top four pick so something like 7&14 for 3 and a low pick in the 20's. Calton would get a King with 7 and then just need to determine will Max's injury push him down to around 10-12. With 14 and the other pick in the 20's, a couple of clubs around the pick 10 mark may be interested in a trade which could nab Max.

I think the possibility of live trading on the night opens up a world of possibility with 1&3 so shit will get interesting.

1 + 3 opens up some amazing possibilities.

Personally I'd just take them both to the draft - Walsh and Smith in the bag - then trade our future first for Shiel and call it a day.

Picks 26 and 28 to be packaged up to Sydney or North if possible, use the higher pick to grab someone like Rozee as a "needs-based" pick.

Or if Sydney deal with St Kilda (Hannebery and 14 for St Kilda's Pick 6) to get ahead of a Blakey bid, I'd see if 26 and 28 for Lloyd could be arranged to allow them to bank some points to match the eventual bid.

Shiel, Walsh, Smith, Rozee/Lloyd
Fasolo, Dahlhaus
BSOS, Hickmott

8 changes. Done.

FB: Byrne, Marchbank, Plowman
HB: Docherty, Weitering, Lloyd
C: Shiel, Curnow, Murphy
R: Kreuzer, Cripps, Dow
HF: Fisher, Curnow, Fasolo
FF: Dahlhaus, McKay, Silvagni
I/C: O'Brien, Kennedy, Simpson, Petrevski-Seton

EMG: Williamson, Cuningham, Pickett, Macreadie
(Willo and Cuningham could easily break the 22, but given their lack of continuity, that would be pending preseason form)

Unlucky/Depth/Battling: Wright, Thomas, Lang, Kerridge, Lamb, Jones, Mullett, Garlett, Lobbe, Graham
Developing: TDK, Schumacher, Polson, Kerr, Lebois, McDaid, Walsh, Smith, BSOS, Hickmott

That's a solid starting 22, and a balanced group in the reserves with a 50/50 youth/experience split.

Assume some teething problems in 2019 as everyone learns how to play together, then finals in 2020.

1&3 to Carlton and 2&4 to GC make more sense than the proposed 1&4/2&3. AFL says to GC trade Lynch out for two first round picks and we'll get you pick two as PP.

GC will get two first from either Richmond/Hawks/Collingwood for Lynch meaning GC would get picks 2,15ish(2018),15ish(2019) for Lynch. Those late first round picks will get two good players so they get a two gun early picks and two very good traded in players at the start of 2019 season.

That's what makes this even better!!!!
Yeah, I won't be crying myself to sleep over it. They'll end up getting a few in the coming years anyway, but they will be pissed if that were to happen.

If we did get that pick then we should use it for Shiel (if available), possibly get a decent pick back as well to use on someone like Caldwell. Hang on to next years first in case we are a shot at Kelly.

I think it would be picks 1 & 4 to Carlton and picks 2,3 (Lynch compo), and 5 to Gold Coast.

I still doubt they will do it though as it will create an outcry by teams like the Saints, mid first round sounds more likely.

Exactly - that's why I reckon we'll purposely lose these last two games to make sure we finish last - the tank is on !! :)

Probably not.

However, I do think Gold Coast have probably made moves to go off the boil. Beat Sydney in Sydney, then turn to shit again. They don't want to go past Brisbane and St Kilda and turn 2 and 3 into 4 and 5.

I'm sure the AFL would hand it to us & GC on the proviso that it is traded for experienced players.
They won't want both us and GC to go in with a bunch of 19yo again
This guy gets it. Gold Coast will be going to the AFL saying they need a PP and big compo for Lynch, the AFL will do so on the handshake deal that it will be used to attempt to immediately shoot up the ladder and not languish at the bottom anymore - the AFL need them up and about not rebuilding again.

It will be the same story for us. Use pick 3 to get yourself a good player, have a big pre season and get off the ****ing bottom ffs.

Having said that, GWS will be saying no to our 2019 1st rd pick once Pick 3 is there. They know we will be intending to shoot up the ladder, so they won't be wanting a pick in the 6-10 when they can demand pick 1 or 3 this year. I dare say a straight swap for Shiel would probably be on the cards.

Purposely!? Yep, I think we will take our foot off our opponents throat in these last two games ;)

They are being pretty cunning about it as well. Rather than being really obvious and only just losing we are making sure we get flogged by 10 goals plus most weeks to throw people off the scent.
