Just doesnt have the body size. You look at him next to Josh Kennedy he would get murdered. Theres going in hard and then there is suicide. Needs time to put on some size. Hes an elite runner and hes learning his craft of that quarter back role and setting up the play with his field kicking.

I'm hoping lob becomes like gaff in time.

Gaff was also very small and skinny as a teenager and was a very outside player...but clearly had the right attitude and eventually put on size...now he's good in the contest as well.

Would love to get Mitch Wallis. Tough inside mid will help out a Cripps. Part of that elite handballing unit in 2016 at the Dogs before leg injury. Misses out on flag, comes back round 9 next year and then teams not right. Now Beveridge coming out and saying out of contract players need to step up. That teams not challenging for a flag again he can come over to a talented list, be that immediate big body injection into the side to help in the scrap as well as teach us how to be slicker with the handballs through traffic. I reckon he only costs is a 2nd rounder. Wouldnt demand Ollie Wines money and seems a solid citizen for mine.

Has he been the same player since his leg injury though? I haven't watched him closely since he returned.

No I think he just makes him earn his spot (or potentially takes it) and Wallis will provide some additional support to Cripps/younger players in the short term.

I think Wallis is a bit slow and limited to an inside mid for our team since we have Cripps and Kennedy.

Top teams ATM like eagles, Richmond and melbourne spread really well from the contest and surge forward...we would struggle to defend that with Cripps, Wallis and Kennedy in the middle.

Hopefully there's a mature mid out there who is a bigger body but also good on the outside.

Would hope not. Don't think you can have too many ball winners. With our medical team, probably wouldn't be a problem anyway
laughed till I cried - then just kept crying

Understand your point, but the Hawks starting three in their prime weren't exactly Usain Bolts …… they filled their outsides with fast, elite kicking, outside mids to compensate. If you can dominate the clearances and have outside runners (like Gaff for example), does it really matter?

You are getting first use then an I50 …..

Once your outside mid does his job and disposes forward of the centre clearance, the centre CP kings can amble up towards the forward press area and man up waiting for any rebounds. Excites me that Cripps is a fairly solid contested mark too …..

I’d prefer Dom Tyson over Wallis. Similar ages, however more output and a much more proven product
More proven at what?

All he has proven over his career is that he's just an accumulator. He's Caddy Plus, and I do not want us throwing a top 30 pick anywhere near him.

Would love Gaff and/or Guthrie. Not sure if either would want to come to us.

Maybe we could negotiate with SPS, so we could offer Guthrie the number 5 locker and the dream of having his name just under Judd.

Get Juddy onto both of them!

SPS doesn't need to compromise for Guthrie. Samo will be a better player than him.

The two kids are doing better than good. They’ll appreciate the week off, then back into it. The fruits will be seen next year.

Might have to take a look at the contract status of some of these saints.

You don't forget how to play footy so there's some demotivated footballers who'd make us a lot better.
I'd be trying to get Seb Ross to nominate us.

Good extractor, accumulator, B- to B+ midfielder, still young, and puts in most weeks. Would not be worth an incredible amount, and would improve us immensely.

He is not someone saints will let go easily...hes one of their more prominent younger players.

Only problem is one is still contracted (the preferred one) & will cost a draft pick which I hope we hang onto all of them around the pick required to trade.

You’d think the Hawks would be a good fit there. They’d likely also be into the midfielders in the FA pool.

Which is why we need to get it to start with him, get him to request a trade.

I'm not interested in shafting them in the deal, but taking the box seat is just good strategy. He nominates us, and they can choose to keep a player who doesn't want to be there or trade for him fairly.

He's on a long-term contract though, which means he's probably worth a mid-first.

Which is fine.

Keep low first, trade the 2nds to get lower into the first round, ontrade that pick for Ross. SOS has demonstrated the capacity to finagle his way to obtaining what is required to get a trade done whilst retaining/bolstering his original position, and should he seek to go this way I have confidence in his ability to manoveur his way into whatever st Kilda seeks
