That Paddy Dow goal against Gold Coast was pretty good.

Yes It was , Paddy will do that in a game, but is not the spark I'm talking about. He'll be a very good footballer, soild character determination and application.
Not all players are gifted with Xfactor and no it can't be turned on for 120 minutes and gifted players can't ram into packs all game long either.
They bring a crowd to their feet and draw bums to the games, that's vital.

I'd be very happy with May, we have no mongrel, hence why ASOS was missed so much this year. Helps the young kids. I know he had a couple of goes at CC etc, boohooo it's AFL football, no netball, and what he did to CC I want him to bring that to CFC, but just a bit more controlled. If we are to start playing finals in the next few seasons you need players like May.

Right...it's really quite simple. I'll break it down for you:

1) stand behind him and hold your phone up to your ear
2) loudly say "Stephen, how are you mate?"
3) if he turns around you've got your man, and you just pretend to be on your phone, and cooly look at him and laugh cos of the mix up
4) then just say "oh yeah no worries, I'll call you back after my flight" into your phone
5) talk to SOS you've broken the ice

Do it. We await your bluemours!
Why go to all that trouble, just ask him how he's daughter is going because you used to date her....

Imagine if GC finish last and Hawthorn 1st.....Scrimshaw trade is comical for GC.

GC getting all the blokes that don't want to be there off their list

Don't think they care about picks, they have plenty.

Get those with bad attitude or don't want to be there out. Bring in recruits with character who will stick fat.

It looked exactly like the Harmesy spark to me. Dow in his first year and all skin and bones still. Hard to please some folks.

Easily how? I mean, this draft has serious talent in the top eight *and* there is no guarantee that Carlton replicates it's 2018 season. I can't see any club with a top 8 pick throwing the kitchen sink at us for a pick that may end up between 3 and 5.

Preaching to the wrong crowd (mostly) in here- everyone likes well-spoken choir boys with nice haircuts. You are talking mongrel - people in here mutter inanities like 'fly the flag'...LOL

Fighting an urge to comment on this.

LIES! No one looks good in brown and gold.

They also follow Lee Lin Chin, she might play in our AFLW side?

Born overseas, maybe we can sign her as NGA.

Or if we wait til 2020, she will have been off a list for three years and can sign her as Cat B

:)

Still hate May’s guts for that but yeah I agree he’d be a great addition. Could send Jones to them as part of any deal. I think our priorities will be elsewhere and should be elsewhere right now, but for the right price he’d be pretty awesome for us.

The two picks we traded got Adelaide pick 13 plus Mcadam. Equates to roughly pick 10.
Adelaide had to give up pick #40 (429pts) and McGov for pick #13 (1212 pts)= pick #24.

Plus we got Adelaide 2019 3rd round pick for our free PP (McAdam).

Sydney dd really well out of it all though...

A guaranteed top 10 pick this year and a second round pick and a mature player (minimum) for a top 10 pick next year is not a good deal?

Too many variables to clearly judge if that's a good deal or not.

The first is which pick is coming in? If it's 5, that's one thing - if it's 10, that's another.

Then there's the identity of said mature player, and just what - realistically - that top 10 pick next year might be. I'm of the thinking it'd be 1-3 - not something I'd give up unless that 'mature player' is (say) a starting midfielder in our best 18 - and who of that ilk is still a possible (and available) trade target at this stage?

Think Gold Coast are the only club we could entice.

No doubt GC will be involved, but a 3rd club will be needed for the deals we and GC require

Its too hard to get a proper read on it though. I still expect us bottom 4 then to catapult up in 2020. Thats why id prefer to keep next years unless we get a top 5 pick this year for it. I feel it will be valuable come this time next year if we hold onto it.

Imo we are still 22 more games into the kids off and a pick 1-4 in 2019 could go a long way towards landing us a Josh Kelly type. We will be more appealing this time next year for players as everyone will see how good our kids are becoming

We can either go to the draft this year with 2 early picks, or what we currently have. Better to bring in 2 kids this year than over 2 years. As I said, a pick 8 or lower this year, is of more value than pick 4 next year. So rather than Kelly, more than enough FA next year, of quality to enhance our list, while going to the draft

and it would be the minimum we would get. easily add in another pick and a player

Depends what pick we end up with this year, but it is all part of the negotiations
