Good on Cogs for staying if that is what he wants, good luck to him.
On a seperate issue, GWS salary cap smells a little off.

Cognilio, rumoured 7 years at $1M a season
J.Kelly, signed a new deal rumoured to be around $1M a season
J.Cameron, has been reported many times is in over $1M
T.Greene signed a long term deal, reported around $800,000 a season
Patton, reportedly on $700-$800,000 a season
Whitfield, reportedly on $700,000+

Add to the above, Ward, Davis, Williams, Hopper, Himmelberg, Taranto, a few of which have signed new deals this year. Where is the $$$$$ coming from.

Surely there will be another sale n at GWS come seasons end.
This is actually quite farcical when mapped out like that, especially when Ward and Davis are almost certainly on $700+ themselves. What a ****ing joke.

Papley will not be released by the Swans. We have two priorities - a gun mid and solid ruck prospect. A gun SA mid will be wearing navy blue next year. Possibly two. Ed Langdon is also not the only young Docker mid we are interested in.

It's the same animal

SOS is good at shaking a tree till a rosy red apple falls.

Injuries ?

Since he’s been in the league he’s had a fractured leg, groin injuries- OP off memory? And countless hamstrings. I thought he would be one of those players that would unfortunately never get a good run at it because his body kept on letting him down. To see him play a full year this year was honestly a little surprising but if he has now gotten on top of his body troubles he will become a fully fledged A grade midfielder over the next few years.

This trade period with the Crows in turmoil and still some question marks over him is probably the best time any club will ever have to bring him over without having to break the bank for him.

Patton’s gone going to the Dorks. The rest I don’t know how they’re keeping them within the cap. Isn’t the players cap 3-3.5m a year?

Seems to be quite an array of injuries

Hilarity. Straight up hilarity. More than that you can’t ask for
you take that back - I'm about drama - and intensity - and world affairs - and cake......plateloads of cake...…..

Very disappointing re cogs but kind of expected going by barass’ post today. Don’t fool yourselves by thinking it’s a good thing he stayed, we were obviously having a massive crack and missed out again on a quality player who would have come for free.

Time to move on though. We now need to get Papley who would be a massive gain. Hopefully pick 8 is enough. Would not want to give up much more than that.

We also need some more midfield depth I think. Will be interesting to see what SOS is working through. Don't really want Crouch or Wines considering how much they would cost draft pick wise. I know it's hail mary stuff but I would be having a massive crack at Fyfe. The guy looks very pi**ed now that Lyon is gone and Freo is a sinking ship.

My biggest fear now is that we go hard for average C-grade players like Jack Martin and Brandon Ellis. Please stay away Carlton!

Will be interesting to see how GWS cope with Cameron, Whitfield and another gun (can't remember who) being out of contract next year. Will the AFL foot the bill again?

Neither are C grade players.
