A lot of clubs coming out publicly with their first on the table... weak draft this year after pucks 1&2??? Seems to me like a good year to not be draft reliant like we have been the last 3-4 years.

Since clubs are not valuing picksI would go counter the market and see if we could swap a player for 2 first rounders...you never know....and might deliver the flankers, pockets we need

Probably would too. Gotta take an educated guess sometimes if free agency ain’t working.

We will not be spending a top 10 pick on a small forward. Same with next year’s first.

Those picks will be used on established quality mids or taken to the draft. Focus is on getting at least one A grade mid (ideally two) and another two quality depth mids

Agresta did only mention midfielders as our targets during his VFL interview when we were playing Richmond.

SOS said last year when Sheil had chosen Essendon, Carlton will get a better player than Sheil from GWS. The AFL won't allow the top players from
GWS to leave, Carlton are wasting their time thinking they will get a top player from GWS.
This. The afl control which teams stay at the top. They don’t want us to rise, hence the corruption in keeping cogs at GWS

Good on Cogs for staying if that is what he wants, good luck to him.
On a seperate issue, GWS salary cap smells a little off.

Cognilio, rumoured 7 years at $1M a season
J.Kelly, signed a new deal rumoured to be around $1M a season
J.Cameron, has been reported many times is in over $1M
T.Greene signed a long term deal, reported around $800,000 a season
Patton, reportedly on $700-$800,000 a season
Whitfield, reportedly on $700,000+

Add to the above, Ward, Davis, Williams, Hopper, Himmelberg, Taranto, a few of which have signed new deals this year. Where is the $$$$$ coming from.

Surely there will be another sale n at GWS come seasons end.

Perhaps Jimmy Bartel has been getting in their ears and talking about Cats taking lower salaries to maintain success?

Don’t understand why everyone keeps wanting cripps to be able to go forward more anyway he’s not exceptionally quick off the mark or elusive like Martin and danger - he ok for the odd mismatch . He’s proven that he likes high game time on the ball in contested situations . Play blokes to there strength .. like early fascination with Charlie in the middle his best Football is as deepest forward with game in front of him ..
To break the tag and force our midfield to develop

You're on fire tonight! Keep posting your intel :)

This is from the same source who told me about Cogs but I don’t believe it.

Basically it is premised on Clayton Oliver demanding a trade from the Dees. If they can’t change his mind they would accept pick 8 plus next year’s first and Weitering in exchange for Oliver plus pick 2.

We then trade pick 2 to the Crows for Crouch and Talia.

Crows then trade picks 2 and GC to the GC for Lukoscious and a top 15 pick.
So who do we trade out for Talia?

I don’t think anyone. Jones is so well liked.

Weitering for Clayton Oliver? Nope I couldn’t

I really think a disgruntled Brad Crouch makes a lot of sense for us and Adelaide.

Gives them some draft capital in their ongoing quest for Lukosius, we get an A grade midfielder for the next 6-7 years and become a serious free agent destination immediately.

If Sydney refuse to deal Papley, we come knocking again next year when he is out of contract. What do you say now, mother****ers?

I'm going to stop you right there.
