I reckon you can never have too many big bodies in the middle. I'd personally throw the kitchen sink at Wines if available.

Murphy and Curnow aren't getting any younger and our other mids need more time. We also don't know if they will ever be that sort of midfielder (although I'm fairly confident Stocker will be, but he's a good 2 years away from that level, maybe more).

Murphy is also a lot more fragile these days. Wines allows him to play a bit more outside and it could prolong his career.

Get on the Wines train, I say.

I reckon Melbourne would disagree with this statement.

Today’s Bluemour Quiz multi choice question:

So, when McCartney met with SoS over lunch/coffee recently was it?

(a) Out at Westfield
(b) Out of left field
(c) About players including Whitfield
(d) (b) and (c) only

The current jackpot stands at $1.3m per year.
I’ll say (d)
Hopefully this is your cryptic way of saying where fight in the mix for Whitfield lol (that’s what I’m hopping)

I think that's why we heard Teague(?) and i think Agresta say we didn't necessarily NEED a mature mid...
Reckon the club is really bullish that our young midfielders will really grow over the next few years anyway.

What we do absolutely need is some crafty small forwards who make things happen like Liam Ryan & Willi Rioli. Obviously the club knows this, with interest in Papley, Butler, Gray & Betts so far (that we know of).
Yep, fix one problem at a time. Small forwards this year, mids/ruck ? next year. (if necessary)

Not a blues rumour but could effect our trade strategy.

The surprise player in trade period will be the Tigers, they have freed up cap space and are on the prowl. Might mean tiger targets are ungettable or that if they are targeting the same players we are we will have a fight on our hands.

How could Tigers, premiers in 2017 and a top 4 team since then, who just poached Tom Lynch last year, have big cap space?
