Had a short conversation with an acquaintance today, who's well-connected with some of the recruiters who attend U18 games. He wouldn't tell me much, but he told me that if Carlton get the #1 pick this AFL draft, it's 100% between Weitering and Schache, and as of right now, Schache is a slight favourite.

Pick 11 for a specialist sub.....We gave 11 for McLean. Anything is nothing!
Make that a 4th rounder and its a deal, **** them.Hear that Brissie, give us Aish for a 2nd and we'll leave Schache on the table for you.
Pick 11 for a specialist sub.....
Interesting top 12 that year, probably only 2 players I would be happy with at this stage of their careers and 1 of them is a bit of a stretch.Yeah, and Melbourne slammed us with Gysberts.
Worth it for that last minute goal against the tiges?
Just maybe?
Or vs Jetta, Menzel, Fyfe, Bastinac, Colyer, Duncan, Gunston, Reid, Christensen......Not sure why I never thought of this, but instead of the age old Lucas vs Talia decision, perhaps it was really McLean vs Talia...

As opposed to Malthouse and Daisy who have been anything but covertHe must have been a covert Collingwood infiltration project. He has arguably caused more pain on this club than any other employee.
Thanks Wayne Hughes.....

We wouldnt be signing Bolton until October. He would stay with Hawthorn until the end of the finals series.Wonder if Barker would be asked to stay??? If Bolton is announced this week and released from Hawthorn as expected wonder if the club will ask Barker to finish off as head coach for the remainder of the season with Bolton sitting beside him in the box analysing and taking notes (Tania Hird being asked to join on as part of this deal).
Maybe Jamo in his last couple of years at the club could start being a player/assistant coach and help develop the young defenders with their positioning and stuff.Gee Jamo came off well there. Accepts his chances of success are probably gone but genuinely looking forward to helping Cripps, Buckley and Docherty become part of a successful Carlton side in the future.
