Andy Maher reporting on SEN that the AFL are seriously considering giving Brisbane number 1 pick as a priority pick. If this happens I will officially give up on AFL

So we are every bit as bad as Brisbane if not more looking at lists but we have to lose Kreuzer to get another pick and Brisbane don't have to lose anybody aside from a trade.

I don't have a problem with them getting pick 1.

I have a problem with us not getting fair compo for Kreuz

They have not been low enough for long enough to get a PP. Melbourne didn't get one.

Listening to Evans yesterday their is no way we get number 2 for kruze. He has already thrown in the "also depends what they have acheived in their career to date" as the get out clause for the Frawley precedent.

Yeah, Frawley had done less than Kreuz. Lol

Not many will ever look at incompetent as Roger Goddell after the whole Deflategate crap, he suspends Brady for 4 games for "probably knew why there was less air in the football", the same ban length as another player who assaulted his ex, go figure.
Not really, Hardy sat out all of last season then was given an additional 10 game suspension which was reduced to 4 on appeal, Brady was given 4 for ball tampering which was waived on appeal.
That said the NFL (and MLB for that matter) and their rulings are dubious to say the least and I'd like to see the AFL not following them in questionable decision making with little or no explanation.

Ray Rice got 2 weeks initially.

Isn't the FA compo a calculation that looks at top 10 B&F finishes, AA selection & the $$$ on offer? If that's the case we'll be very lucky to get pick 2. The club should have the right to know what the compo is well before now as it really does decide if what we do offer Kruezer

Jake Carlisles manager on SEN now, says he would like to get a trade done but didn't say no to him walking to us in the pre season draft should Carlton be his desired place to play footy next year.

The only thing that scares me is why the hell would he want to come to the wooden spooners. Can we even offer him more than teams like North and St Kilda?

If this happens the AFL is a complete joke. in the last 3 seasons Brisbane are a grand total of 1 win behind us. Cannot see why that makes them more deserving than us or Melbourne last year.

If this is how they intend to prop up a National Competition then it is just BS.

There is nothing in the criteria about individual awards. Just contract and age and a clause about unusual results.

The AFL just make things up as they go along.
Its a different set of rules for the interstate Clubs.
First we re virtually screwed out of Band 1 compo, and given a bumbling bullsh*t excuse.
And now they re talking about just handing our Pick 1 over to the Lions.
Watch them give them Band 1 compo for Luey also, and they ll end up with Pick 1, 3 and 4.
The state of their list, as is the case with us, IS THEIR FAULT!. Nobody asked them to have a shit Club culture and coaches who alienate and p*ss off their players.
But hey, they re not located in Footballs heartland, so lets just make up some rubbish and hand them all these concessions.

I give up on the AFL if Brisbane get a priority pick and we don't get #2 for Kreuzer with a similar deal with Frawley. Disgraceful.

Did they change it to this at some point?

The compensation formula produces a points rating for players based on:

1. The new contract of the free agent;
2. The age of the free agent.

= Happy days!

The committee has the power to recommend alternative outcomes to GM – Football Operations where the formula produces a materially anomalous result.
= We're stuffed!

The one thing that gives me some comfort from this:

We'll be chucked a bone or two to pacify us a little.
I could accept something like:

2015: Brisbane get a priority before Rnd 1 and band 1 for Luenberger. We get Band 1 for Kruezer.
Brisbane 1, 4, 5
Carlton 2, 3

Oh look the fixture has us playing Good Friday against Norf.

2016: Carlton get a priority pick before Rnd 1
