Trade radio saying we're still in for Josh Walker. Seems likely.

Next year's 2nd and Walker would be an absolute disaster. Worse than 28. Just take their first next year FFS.

Wouldnt be shocked if its been something like this:
- Before Geelong were forced to trade for Danger we'd had a gentlemens agreement to recieve their first rounder this year for Henderson
- Given thats fallen through, and they are likely to end up higher on the ladder next season (resulting in a lower pick), weve settled for their first next season AND Walker (who wants out anyway given the amounf of talls they are trading in).

I expect we will ontrade that Geelong pick in the GWS package deal.

I think GWS wont trade McCarthy to Freo, and they will chase Casboult hard.

Rather two top 7 picks over just pick 1.

The other consideration is weitering is a kpd, and ideally you spend your high draft picks on mids and forwards.

Curnow and mathiesion to boost our forward and mid stocks would be better than weitering imo

I'd rather keep pick 1. We know exactly who we're getting and we're getting our first preference (whether it's Weitering or not). Our second and third options may not even be there at 6 and 7.

I spose if we aren't into Weitering then it's a possibility.

I'd rather pick 10 next year and pick 12 this year than pick 5. Having said that, I doubt we'll get pick 12 for Yarran unless it's like, Yaz & 20 for 12 & 32.

Yep, he's a good player. Problem is that Hendo is worth more than Walker and their 2nd this year. Walker and next year's first seems a more palatable deal.

SEN were saying last night that Freo *may* have offered their first AND second for McCarthy! Considering Cas is probably at a better age for a tilt at the flag (and has the capacity to ruck) then Freo may put an offer SOS considers more than 'fair value' on the table. Freo are probably more likely than Brisbane to do so, IMO (Cas seems to be the 'steak knives' in a Brisbane deal to land us a higher pick for Bell).

I'm not saying it should happen, Jatz. Just suggesting that Adelaide are a club who could do it. They may have their eye on a specific player who may not last til pick 9 - wouldn't be a terrible option then. Would ask for a later pick back too.
