Do you mean if Curtin is left at #8?
Unlikely, but yeah, he'd be a great get for us.

Going Vic only probably isn’t a good indicator of best available, i think they will pick Duursma, unsure of who else. I dont see Dogs picking Watson though.

Have you done a phantom to see who you think goes where?

Every suggestion is that Dogs are targeting Watson (with the assumption that Duursma is already gone). They certainly won't be going tall.

Order will change depending on if Eagles keep 1.

I’d imagine dogs would target a mid knowing that smith could be out the door in the next couple of years, that Dunkley left last season and libba isn’t exactly a spring chicken. Mckercher or Sanders would be my best guess on who they pick up if they’re still on the board.

Is that Robbie Warnock?

Melbourne's trade for pick 11 gives you an idea of what may be required to get pick 7. Pick 14, 27 and 35 to get pick 11. Thats bonkers for a 3-pick upgrade.
Clubs really not rating the 2nd round hey - astute by Austin to trade out for Cowan last draft.

I would prefer a future 2nd, but 25 could do the job for Fish now.

I think if Cowan was in this draft, he would comfortably go first round. Seriously weak after that top group (though that can easily change with the benefit of hindsight)

There will be a lot of good players in the 2nd round, just far less clear than in other years imo. A lot of flanker types who drift in and out of games but possess a lot of AFL qualities.

Dogs have made their trade specifically to get Nick the wizard Watson

I don't really see the point of trading up to Geelong's pick then, all of the players in a position of need will be gone, would rather we give up less to trade in another less valuable pick and target quality kids in positions we need them, i.e small forward, KPD etc. Most of the top kids not named Watson and Duursma are mids or KPF, which we certainly do not need.

Trading up for O'Sullivan, who is a KPD, seems to make the most sense to me but admittedly I know not a lot about him, and have read/heard 0 mail on any interest in him.

EDIT:
On another note, if the Dogs have "sold the farm" so to speak to get an x-factor small forward, whoever is in charge of list management there is woefully unaware of the problems they have as a list.

The trade is fine for the Dogs, get a gun in a position of need, and get Croft.

As for us, O'Sullivan or Caddy would make sense, along with basically all the other non-GC top 10 except for Sanders.

Noticed hunter Clark has been offered a two year deal by st Kilda . Wouldn’t mind having a stab at him. Thoughts? The fact he isn’t signed yet makes it ideal for us to apply pressure.

Have to wonder given difficulty of getting an early enough pick, what about just trading our first round for a future 1st round (mid table team).

Would give us 3x 1st rounds next year to potentially get a pre campo-twins pick?
