Looks like Hollands deal is a simple pick swap. Incredible deal for us. We were apparently into him for a while. He wasn't keen to leave GCS but we sold him the chance

Billing’s offered for Dow. Could be a smaller Bowes deal but I have no idea if we are interested

Clubs know our F1 is on table to go up draft order

2-3 draft picks and a couple of mature players is still the plan

Billings is appealing as a HFF. Leftie and better delivery + goal scoring potential. Needs to get over the injuries & regain fitness/touch.
We have already said he was not in our thinking prior however.

He hates Carlton now. I used to love him with all my heart. Now: Quite frankly: * him.

He has narcissistic personality disorder. His continual re-recruitment of players when he moves to the next club is more than just comical, it’s sad. He cannot admit when he’s wrong, ever. He is getting worse as he gets older. He will have no club to go to when he is discarded by the Saints in a few years and will die a clubless sad grumpy old man.

His bitterness toward Carlton couldn’t be any clearer.

It’s fine. Be that way. And get ****ed.
What a load of bollocks.

Billings would be on significant coin then if Saints would be willing to give up a pick to get him off their books. Given the injury risk I would be extremely hesitant unless it was a first round pick coming with him (which is obviously unlikely)

Don't hold back, tell us what you really think..

Yup that‘s what we said last year too, hopefully there’s a surprise or two for us yet, got the fingers crossed , if not, next year surely will be huge with the Camporeale lads coming onto the list and a Ist Rd pick too , which may well be better than one thinks. The final 8 will be a tough proposition, as our game draw season 2024.
We may still trade players in, it's just unlikely that they're the big-ticket types that some are lusting after & that's okay.

We know you are throwing Billlings out the door. I’d take Billings and a future 3rd for Dow (age difference) and you have a deal SOS.

He definitely looked rather slow and disinterested playing wing when I watched him. Just trundled up and down barely firing a shot. Looked a bit like when we had Setterfield playing out there compared to when he was on ball the back half of 22.

If the move pays off it will look like highway robbery but theres every chance he still ends up a bust
You mean like every trade ever made?

He has Jo though
Although that was looking a bit shaky a while back....

Makes sense re: Hollands. The fact that he never requested a trade suggests he wasnt desperate to leave and it was more being driven by us and gc. Any idea what we sold him on?

If Billings is being considered and we are taking on his salary then pick 21 will be a starting point

Where does Elijah play if we get him?

I'm hoping it is not about trading for an ex high draft pick who is a brother of a current player. That strategy has proven a liability to Carlton over the last ten years.

Can he demand a midfield rotation? Did GC say he was played out of position on the wing?

Half forward is a hard role where we need defensive pressure. Is he potentially a Owies/Cunners replacement?

Looking into 2024 it is really hard to fathom which way we want to go with our half forwards. Creative types who can score or out and out pressure forwards like Owies/Durdin pressuring rebounds and leaving goals to our talls/mids. In that last brisbane game we went with creative forwards in Motlop and Martin and Brissy walked the ball out for easy corridor central counter attacks.

Motlop and Martin can pressure but can drop that aspect at times.

Schulz can do both but we sucked a lemon there.

yup agree Billings is not the worst outcome, ironically they're both former pick 3. better than losing Dow for zilch .

Hate to give that club credit, but they reached out when nobody was thinking about it. You miss 100% of the chances you don't take.
