Aleer would make alot of sense. Walks into our side as CHB. Behind 2 guys at GWS who are still youngish. Fills a short and long term need. Worth a mid-late first which will be around where our pick falls. Not going to demand a huge salary. Fills our biggest need.
Would be around the pick we get for Martin.
Just as a matter of interest, how do you think we acquire Aleer, Ryan and Rachelle....AND have 2 picks before the bids.

We likely get nothing for Martin. Swap of late picks at best. Doubt we offer him a contract at all.
No way do you trade a first round pick for a 23 year old fringe player at best. That's just madness.
He's not a fringe player for us. He would be our starting CHB.
That's completely irrelevant. That's like getting a first round pick for Dow. The selling point should be you'll get a great opportunity to play senior football.
Aleer is more likely a 2nd round pick, no way would l be giving up a pick 10-12 for a unproven player.

Knew I missed someone, Cowan is a lock for best 18… Like to see him given a run in the midfield…
The only way we get something is if we offer him a contract with the understanding that we will let him go to Fremantle
If the club can’t get a KPD in next years draft, I’d do what’s necessary to shore up the backline. Even if we pay overs in draft picks.
