Cumberland had some real dominant games but for the last while hasn’t been much chop. His 3rd year I really rated!

Hopefully he still has the fire in the belly because if he can step up, would be a great get. Big if though
We get rid of Carroll and are looking at someone that got chopped by the bottom team that won 2 games.

In a year where Richmond finished dead last and regularly had 15+ players on their injury list, Cumberland managed just 7 matches. Played 10 games in the VFL. Averages about 7 disposals a match. In his 7 AFL matches kicked 6 goals. No better in the VFL - 8 goals in 10 matches.

Had one half-decent year 2 years ago, has been terrible since. Would rather play Fanta.
Indeed. Fantasia is not great, but he puts in. Cumberland ... I don't want to go there. Not enough possessions, no negative side and .... No!!!!!

Cumberland is exactly the type of high risk, low cost player we should be chasing.
Utter fkwit but has immense talent.
Get him right like the good clubs do.
How is he an utter fkwit?
Some love his offensive game but other raise concerns about his defensive side? I didn’t think Voss would want players without defence and pressure

Noah Cumberland is interesting. His best performances came in his first season, when Richmond had pretensions of not falling off; season after a flag, when they'd just up and abandoned the method that saw them get three flags in four seasons which suited his kind of player in favour for a more conventional structure and method. The problem then is halfway through 2023 you have Hardwick retiring, then you have Yze stepping in.

It isn't just a long time at the bottom causing a whole heap of players to want to get off at Richmond. This has all the signs - and I really need to state here that I've got no evidence for this, this is just based on the impression received in the wake of last season - of Yze cleaning house, cutting the players who he cannot work with and/or who he's lost. Administration mightn't have wanted Rioli/Bolton to leave, but you don't lose those players if there's a good connection between coach and player.

So while it's a risk, there's a chance that he'd want to shove it up Yze for misusing him, thinking he can't do it. He has the athletic traits, and if he buys into Voss's pressure mindset from his smalls - provided, you know, that shows up again - he could be an excellent pickup.

He also would cost only the list spot and pennies on the dollar. It's an interesting thought.

Off field??

Just because he doesn’t fit the Voss ideal doesn’t mean he isn’t the right guy to chase … in fact I’d say the opposite is true.

He does not have immense talent. He is a joe the goose specialist. Once again he has had 4 hard ball gets in his last 16 games.

He has just been cut by a team that won 2 games this year and has lost pretty much all of its older talent. Surely that tells you the story.

Can Joe the goose as many goals as he wants if he can get back to this form. Plus, as we saw with Owies stubbed toe, Joe the goosing is an art form!

As a third tall maybe. His lack of defensive efforts might be made up by smalls pressure like fogarty and durdin. he could play as a decoy for H and C.
