Am I right in thinking with 63, 68 and 69 we only have 220 points to match a Ben Campo bid at the moment? So if he's bid on prior to pick 54 we can't currently match...

More movement incoming if that's the case you'd think.
Those picks will all come in at least 10 before the bid. We are easily all good.

For me, I thought the trading for 14 was brilliant.
Didn't mind that deal at all, would have been great to go to the draft with 12 and 14

34 would have been swallowed by the Ben bid. Owies we almost certainly would have had to delist, and we got some more points.
Only if you allow it, other ways of trading back that pick, if we weren't targeting pick 14, but it's still part (or an F2), of the Eagles deal

So it comes down to 12 + 14 vs 3.
If we are focusing on the main picks, yes

I'm more inclined to take the 2 picks in this draft, but yes, won't be able to assess until years down the track.
Agreed

Let's nail pick 3 (which will probably be 4).
Same

Can you imagine being the lads touted as top 5 picks and now knowing than an actual contending club will be picking at #3?

Somebody’s gonna get lucky.
You’d be spinning knowing there’s a chance you get to Carlton who played in a prelim in 2023 and need a POD midfielder especially given how all of these kids are

Seems like many are pleased if we get 3 and lose 12 14 and Owies.
To me that seems like us being done over.

Feel free to try and convince me otherwise.

I remember reading a gazillion posts here last night absolutely shit canning the Suns for what they were getting out of the Houston deal, two future 1sts, the player they wanted (Noble) and dumping Lukosiuos $1.2 million salary for the next two seasons and the Atkins salary dump as well.

We've given up our 1st this year and our 1st next year for pick 3 and some junk picks and yet we've killed it? Doesn't really make sense to me.

Our late picks will come up about 10 places.

Lions alone will use up about 6 picks on bids. Each pick they use to pay for a bid will move our picks up a spot.

Then there's other clubs paying for bids too, like Bombers, GC...

Also, after pick 18, we get a fixed 197 point discount under F/S-NGA rules.

Right now, think we have plenty.

This interests me as much as anything else. Should get a young gun at 3 but a lot of very good players have been recruited with late, mid season or rookie picks. Nailing these can be game changer stuff
Yep, a certain Dan Houston was pick 45, Rookie Draft for example...

West Coast have finished in the bottom 2 for the last 3 years. Yet will only have had one pick below 8

The Chicago White Sox way. Lose 121 games and locked into Pick 10 in the draft.

Glick your dirty rascal, that's a big bomb

A couple of wild rumors going around in former player circles on socials today. None I've seen here.

What was it he posted this time?

I'd start by trading out Walsh...has zero hurt factor !
