What I like about Ross is that he is coming in with via his considered view; and not a desperate attempt to get a senior coach nor out of spite.

So, Ross is coming into the Carlton coaching role with a lot of thoughts and believe that he can take us to the finals, pretty much straight away.
Without this, he doesn't need to and wouldn't consider going back to coaching.

All that makes him a more appealing candidate to me.

If you done interviews before, the good candidates will often choose a job/ company/ environment that suitable for them and not necessarily the other way around. It's always better when it's a win-win scenario :D

Let's get on with it!

Riccardi as a DFA? Maybe, but we're pretty stocked up in his preferred position unless we move others around the place (JSOS to midfield rotation more, McGovern to defence).

I'd hope we're looking to offer Chol a decent crack at our 22 as a priority, as he'd make a fierce rotation with TDK.

Hopefully Pittonet's contract isn't set in stone either, especially the 2nd year.

Riccardi has played defence this season more than just once or twice. If we getting him, we more likely to want him for backline.

Aside from game day nous, Lyon's proven track record at 2 clubs turning mediocre and underachieving cultures around is what appeals to me mostly about Lyon and his credentials.

Can't stress enough how badly need a coach (be it Ross or someone else) to totally instill a new form of professional standards and expectations amongst the playing group, hopefully similar to what Kanga Kennedy bought to Hawtnorn or T Shirt Tommy (Hafey) did for Richmond, or Barasd for us in eras/generations gone by,

It's a big ask I know, but I dare to dream !!!

A few years ago I sat in a private meeting opposite Brad Scott when he was Nth coach with lots of mover and shakers in the room.
He was impressive. Super impressive.

A few years ago I was in a Grand Final media breakfast, opposite Caro and Damo, and directly next to Jon Ralph.

They were all knobs.

Probably an unpopular view but IMHO there was a healthy dose of self interest in Lumumba & Goodes claims and attention seeking and the extent of their claims has been vehemently disputed by others.

Whereas Eddie has been brilliant in highlighting the issues, the emotional & personal cost and dragging people along with him at the same time - absolute super star.

i.e. I take Lumumba’s claims against Buckley with a grain of salt - rightly or wrongly.
Well done Funk on sharing a view that would be contrary to the majority. I reckon you are absolutely correct.

Don't want Riccardi. Celebrated too much when he kicked the winning goal against us!! :D

Was about to mentioned that. Was at that game too. Was filthy for weeks afterwards.

Pretty good player was Peter though. Arguably underrated

I agree. I would think that every coach would want to do that...

But, do they have the balls to stand up to the players and other parties at the club - when push come to shove?
Do they have the audacity to say - my way or the highway?

This group desperately need a stronger coach, a coach that can instil both discipline and belief
