Bombers in Turmoil

Hird finished his career with a brownlow vote, Buckley (possibly) finished his on the bench while his side lost a game. Buckley may be the best Hirds played on, but he's still not as good as Jimmy.

Again, you can't stop posting about Buckley. Hird finished on a player season high clanger rate over two games.

Logical argument, you have finished 12th, 15th and 13th in the past three years and with the retirement of Hird your list has got worse. You have few talented youngsters, only one rising star nomination over 2 years and you have close to the worst list in the league.

With the retirement of Clement your list has also got worse. What a stupid comment by you .

is this the weirdest comment you've ever read??

Chicken shit anyone? :D

I don't see Terry being shown the door for lack of success. He has been given time to prove his word. Unlike your rabble who put a 27 year champion on his arse, let alone don't have the balls to admit you are trying to poach two other clubs coaches. Where's the integrity. Hidden in the cellar I think. Should take a few years t find it again. Enjoy.

You have lost your Messiah's in Hird and Sheedy and the club, without devine guidence, will flounder.

The writing is on the wall. Surely you can see it.

I'm yet to see one logical arguement saying why we're a rabble. Or why we're screwed onfield. Or why any of these supporters clubs have had more success recently than us.

I love going for Essendon, everyone's so jealous.

Rabble is too harsh a word, so is turmoil:thumbsdown:

But, I do see a 5 year rebuilding period coming up due to the fact that Fletcher, Michael, Lloyd, Lucas, both Johnsons etc need replacements of equal quality.....O crap, one for Hird too if possible.

As for Hird v Buckley, it's a NO CONTEST - HIRD by a country mile, a freak of nature who is the best natural footballer ever!!! Buckley is a lot better at receiving handballs from the hard players though :D

3 wins to 10 wins.

That's going forward, not backwards turbo.

Yes and how many games did you just sneak in. The Bombers finishing 16th next year is the easiest money to be made. Both the Tigers and Blues are on the way up and will send the Dons packing to the bottom of the ladder.

Actually with the expected addition of Judd and the exciting list of youngsters, it has got better, Clement made very little contribution thsi year and yet we still finished top four.

Then why did Buckley have more hardball gets in his career than both Hird and Voss. If you are going to make stupid statement at least back it up. Have you figured out whether you barrack for Fitzroy, the bears or the lions. Find a club and stick to it.

Having finished 12th, 15th and 13th over the past three years the Bombers are in on field chaos. Add to that the fact that they were unable to secure the coach they wanted, a group of supporters are at war with their club, their two legends have walked away from the club and now the below internal bickering and leak. All indications are that the Bombers are in turmoil both on and off the field. Pencil them in for 16th.

'Dons begin witch-hunt
26 September 2007 Sunday Herald Sun
Mark Robinson and Mark Stevens

ESSENDON has launched an internal crusade to expose the official who leaked news that Neale Daniher had been overlooked for the vacant senior coaching position.

If found, the official faces the sack.
Daniher, who was one of three remaining candidates for the job, heard of his omission yesterday morning while eating breakfast and listening to the radio.
The Bombers are furious their plan to inform Daniher later in the day yesterday was hijacked by a big-mouth club staffer on Monday.
Club directors and senior officials were contacted yesterday by chief executive Peter Jackson.
Jackson was embarrassed for Daniher, whom he rated highly, and for the club.
He personally telephoned Daniher to apologise.'

The obsession with Essendon from some COllingwood fans is becoming comical. Seriously, look after your own backyard and get that right before coming after us.

For all your crap about Collingwood "owning" Essendon our recent history is far more successful than yours. In the end I'm happy to lose to Collingwood but win a premiership. Seems that Collingwood judge success differently, more power to you. Personally, all I care about is premierships.

How many wins did we just miss out on last year? A wins a win mate. Geelong snuck over the line last week... but guess what? They're playing in a grand final.

Bombers in turmoil?

By far the most ridiculous use of the word i have ever come across.

Here's a word for you:

Denial:
is a psychological defense mechanism in which a person faced with a fact that is uncomfortable or painful to accept rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence. The subject may deny the reality of the unpleasant fact altogether (simple denial), admit the fact but deny its seriousness (minimization) or admit both the fact and seriousness but deny responsibility (transference).

Sheedy's departure was for more than a lack of success.

Stop making yourself look like an idiot. Sheedy publicly admitted the only way he would leave the club is if the club sacked him. The time was right for the club to refresh itself, get some new faces and get on with rebuilding, we couldn't hang on to Sheedy forever.

Show us the facts for that statement.

Ahhhh, what a surprise, someone states that Buckley is not the greatest player of all time and personal jibes start  If you must know, I was a Bears member from the outset and am now a Lions member after the AFL gave us Fitzroy. It was tough going through High School barely winning a game, but the wheel eventually turned and I was there to see Voss captain the mightly Lions to 3 consecutive flags, two against your mob too :D.

Maybe when Buckley retires he can go talk to Voss about how it feels to win premierships....after all he did leave Brisbane to "go and win premierships at a big club like Collingwood" didn't he?????

BACKFIRED LIKE A BITCH DIDN'T IT BUCKS :D

Let's not even get into who goes into a contest harder out of Voss and Buckley :p, because the football world (apart from Pies supporters of course) know who they'd rather have lead their team into battle.

Yes because thet deserved the win and were the better team on the night and for the year. Good luck to them on the weekend, they deserve it.

So we weren't the better team against Sydney, West Coast, Fremantle and Adelaide? Riiiight!

Even if we weren't the best team in some of our close wins, should that stop us from snatching a game if it's there to be won? These close win comments you and some others make are some of the dumbest things I've read.

Where's Macpie? You could use some help.

I couldn't be happier that Essendon are going to be in shackles in the dungeon for years to come.

Without doubt the most spoilt and dis-respectful supports getting around. The entire club has expected everything on a plate for the last two decades. God forbid if they are hardly done by.

I've had a gutful of Essendon and their silver spoon attitudes. All I can hope for in the next few years when Essendon are locked in irons in the basement is that Carlton have more success and get some back on all the Dons supporters who have layed the boots in in recent times.

What goes around comes around Dons and you deserve the full whack.

True, I dont really know what its like to be so bitter about footy, come around to my place and I can show you how to enjoy winning a GF...

Is it my fault I am lucky that I support such an amazing club? Its your choice.....stop complaining!

Actually Buckley left the Bears who no longer exist, so he made a great decision. Sad that Voss and Brisbane could only win 3 in a row, pehaps they should look at Collingwood and Coventry to see what it is like to win four in a row. I also suggest you check the stats when Buckley and Voss were on the same field. They played each other 33 times

Happy to take $1000 off you.

How many games did we just lose?

Winning close games is an art in itself.
We learnt how to win again this year, that's a big step given where we came from.

Actually with the expected addition of Judd

Judd isn't an addition, because you have to give up players to get him given that Collingwood don't have the picks WCE want.

That is of course if West Coast decide to do a trade with the Pies.

If you lose Didak, Davis and Fraser, is Judd actually an addition?

Hard ball get percentage

Buckley- 41 percent

Hird- 28 percent

Source?

It's also a subjective statistic, Hird got a lot of his possessions from marks.
Can't win a hard ball if you're taking a contested mark.
