And if we fu** this up, how can our list management committee survive? f’ed up the Gibbs scenario, f’ed up Greenwood and Keath exists, costly deals to Jenkins and Betts, Sloanes impending hurt, but this is very very public way of being humiliated. We played poker and lost if we don’t get a decent trade and if that happens, heads have to roll.

I wouldn't rule out the football side being forced down their non-preferred route by admin/board.

Match and do a trade with another club other than St Kilda ......that's a proper professional approach, just don't restrict yourself to dealing with one club

No it wasn’t. The compo was only ever officially announced when the announcement that Essendon weren’t matching was released.

I think this is a bit of a line in the sand moment for me.

Other times, I wanted to keep supporting the club but somehow support the AFL less.

I think you will find that the AFL don’t officially release the compo until the club has declined to match. i Believe the other compo announcements came out because the teams had done that straight away but it didn’t make the news feeds.

i Have never been a fan of the AFL media but this has just been amazingly bad. Yesterday at 4 it was announced that the offer was an “eye watering 700-800 per year“, then 20 minutes later it was 600, now this morning it is 700 guaranteed with incentives taking it higher. I mean band 1, oh sorry it’s band 3, er actually it’s band 2 that could have been band 1. No wonder we are all confused.
