I wonder if Adelaide have asked the AFL not to disclose the compensation offered to the public due to the sensitive nature of recent media comments by both clubs.

After all, the compensation pick is the property of AFC and they may want details withheld until they make their decision.

Not sure what the AFL position is on the public disclosure of FA compo. Anyone know the answer?

The best outcome is trading him for fair trade value, somewhere around the pick 10 mark
Would be ideal, unfortunately St. Kilda are the wrong club to do that deal with so we're back at square one.

This isn't going well for the AFC right now.

I haven't been a member since tippet because I stick to my guns.

I mean technically my criteria of Chapman going has been met now but the fact he hand picked his successor means my requirements have now altered.

WTF.. you spend so much time here and you aren't a member!!??

I think this is a bit of a line in the sand moment for me.

Other times, I wanted to keep supporting the club but somehow support the AFL less.

This feels different. We said we'd do something, now we need to do it. Otherwise our word doesn't mean much.
First rule of negotiation .....never make a threat, unless you're prepared to follow that threat thru

Get caught out once ....future threats become meaningless

Why would I pay my hard earned money to help Ricciuto feed his need for relevancy?

I'll happily pony up if we get our shit together despite living in a location that doesn't get AFL games.

I actually prefer the unpredictable method - no one knows what he hell I will do based on the past. Every negotiation is unique.

It's the Thommo theory of negotiation. If I don't know which way I am going to go, how the hell with they :)

They just have to play each ball on it's merit.

Nope, because we don't want to pay him the "just short of band 1" deal the Saints have put down. We will take 23. Let's not forget Lethlean is ex AFL House... we have been stitched up boys and girls.
Ya gotta be an old Xaverians FC teammate and Life Member to get inside running at AFL House mate...Cuppla luminaries on the Honour Board...and both formerly in the legal profession...

And there were enough clubs with a pick before the Bulldogs to throw comments like he was guaranteed to get to the Bulldogs in the garbage.

Plus what would we have given up? A small pick upgrade and a shitty pick in the 40s? Big ******* deal.

And you have no guarantee any of those clubs take Keath. Your gambling on an assumption and usually, that assumption is flat out wrong.

In a game where the difference between a premiership and being a loser comes from maximising the resources available to a club, I would much rather the pick upgrade and the pick in the 40s over getting nothing and the asinine belief that makes you tough.

There were times to make a stand, Dangerfield (or at least wait longer before pulling the trigger), Gibbs, Greenwood (because he stated he wished to stay). Brad is another because we hold every card.

😂😂 like it. However everyone knows what Dusty is going to do and somehow still ends up a lot more effective than Thommo.

It's being reported the "guaranteed" component is $700K per year .....incentives take it higher again

In fact IT IS consistent with what Rendell stated last week

Guaranteed wages of $700k would be band 2 compensation. The $600k quoted figure would the the guaranteed component, and hence the Band 3 compo. Saints would be offering $100-$150k per year as incentive triggers.

Make no mistake that Saints are complete within their right to make that sort of offer, and the AFL is correct that only guaranteed money should be looked at when determining compo, otherwise there’d be all sorts of problems with manipulation with incentive clauses.

This shitshow, in my opinion, falls squarely at the feet of Brad Crouch and his manager actually entertaining this contract, and leaving Crows dead set out in No Mans Land

Trade and FA period makes me laugh....

All year we hear from List Committees saying we have planned for every scenario but then we get delays and hear nothing but crickets

Surely if the AFC had planned for each scenario we would have been on the front foot by now with our next move....

Dont get me wrong, this is not only the AFC..... most clubs are reactive with highly paid roles that are clueless when it comes to commercial strategy

Generally players accept overs to leave though, so keeping him on the same coin isn't exactly great.

Yeah, we're not spending more than market value, but most clubs try to retain players on less than it would cost to move
There's also the risk that you overpay if you don't know what value someone actually has.

I'm fine to pay someone what the market has truly said they're worth. Clearly for Crouch, it's less than he thought.

Can just see us taking 23, Weak ass club won't even watch them next year. like this right here will set us back another 5 years.
For 23 we could pick up someone like Matt Crouch ;)

Well considering that you've got more say in 7 of the 9 members of the board (assuming you're a St Kilda member), I wonder why.
He's talking about the Adelaide Bigfooty board.

Ignore him - he supports an absolute minnow.

Clearly this isn’t as straight forward as the media are making out, otherwise we would’ve heard officially by now whether we were matching or not. Must be negotiations going on behind the scenes and the media are just guessing different scenarios the longer it plays out to keep generating clicks.
