There would be chardy and cucumber sandwiches flying everywhere in China's Quarry!

lol crack me up :)

West Coast receive Josh Hill too, they may as well have just swapped us Ebert for pettigrew

This should mean (if all goes OK) that we will know the GWS compo, plus have Brad on the books by COB today.

I though if we traded Chad and Dean we wouldn't get any compo or list protection. Am I missing something here?

I didnt mean list protection - just plain boring compensation

I wonder if the Bulldogs would give up one pick in the 30's for two in the 40's and one in the 60's, ala Geelong in the Burgoyne trade? If so:

West Coast get: 31 (from GWS), 33 (from Port), Josh Hill
West Coast give: Ebert (to Port), pick 45 and 63 (to Bulldogs) [neither would be used anyway]

Port Adelaide get: Ebert, pick 67 (from GWS)
Port Adelaide give: Pick 33 (to West Coast), Chad & Brogan (to GWS)

GWS get: Chad & Brogan, pick 39 (from Bulldogs)
GWS give: Pick 31 (to West Coast), pick 49 (to Bulldogs), pick 67 (to Port) [neither of the last two would be used anyway]

Bulldogs get: Pick 45 (from West Coast), pick 49 (from GWS), pick 63 (from WCE)
Bulldogs give: Pick 39 (to GWS), Josh Hill (to West Coast)

this gives me a headache. but looks reasonable at first glance :)

Onforward to the trading teams i say :)

And GWS traded pick 31 already apparently  Alright, new plan.

GWS give: Picks 49, 67
GWS get: Chad and Brogan

Bulldogs give: Josh Hill
Bulldogs get: Pick 49

Port Adelaide give: Chad & Brogan, pick 33
Port Adelaide get: Brad Ebert, pick 61, pick 67

West Coast get: Pick 33, Hill
West Coast give: Brad Ebert, pick 61

Maybe? This of course relies on the Eagles planning on using at least 3 draft picks, otherwise they could just get Hill for nothing themselves.

hopefully gws can throw in one of their kids into this deal like growden or harding (whose going anyway) ...

If we aren't going to use 67 why agree to a trade with it in there unless its a face saver ?

It did at first glance until it was pointed out that I was using a pick that GWS traded already.

And I doubt we'll get a pre-listed player thrown in, I can't see GWS wanting to waste one of their opportunities to pre-list a player on getting two 30+ year olds.

no not a prelisted player

an actual trade of players, their existing SA young-uns

I'd take 28 and run. But that's just me.
...

well you're probably successful in life

most people who are in their 40's scrubbing their life away in football for their $140k typically aren't

on this basis, why do a str8 swap? that only makes their output clear and transparent

what better way to preserve your job and make yourself indespensible than by muddying the waters and making it a 4-way

then you can say "oh this is very complicated" and if the swap goes pear shape, you don't have to stand before a board and explain how you got that deal so massively wrong

also helps when you want to get a new job for that extra $20k to be able to say to a potential new employer- yeah, i've done swaps with this guy,and that guy, we go way back, drinking buddies. oh yeah i know him well too. we did the swap no one else could do etc"

people forget that trade week is as much about the old "no one ever got fired for buying IBM"

so who thinks WCE will take pick thirty whatever by itself, or will both clubs throw in the knives for spoons swap to cover themselves?

In any case, can I remind, they guy can come to us for free in the PSD, if that is what he wants. If we feel generous, we can give WCE pick sixty or whatever GWS are about to give us for BroChad or Dean Kornes of whatever his name is.

**** I love trade week

Here we are Friday and our box on the AFL trade tracker is.......BLANK!

That some people are surprised remains an ongoing source of humour, just like Pittards kick-ins, Chaplins sprigs and in a different sense Tommy Logans "Pre-Emptive-Bandage"

EDIT: Man I'm full of ****
Do everyone a favour Ford (any Mod). Keep this post but Red Card me till Tuesday.

I laughed at the pre emptive bandage. Reminded me of a comment Dennis Commetii said about tommy coming out pre bandaged against melbourne
