Brad Fisher - the X factor

again, tonight fisher was great!

its almost impossible for any team to match him up as he is often the 4th best forward. his marking is second to none and he is starting to deliver. was a vital cog in the blues team tonight, and we really struggled when he was off in the 2nd quarter.

well done fish!

Fish is one of my favourites to watch (not shooting for goal though) but he is always near a contest. Until a couple of years ago i didnt no he had the longest arms in the afl to. That would explain how he holds onto them.

If he can stay injury free, he will get better every game. Would be great if he can kick his 2-3 goals a game, that's what we need from all of our forwards.

We don't have to rely on Fev to kick 6 a game, although that is still nice.

Great snap goal.......again. Superb effort - we want nothing more of him other than set shot kicking.

The only instance I was a bit disappointed with was when he'd marked 45m out directly in front (city end), and laid it off to the pocket - poor kick and OOB. Any of our key forwards should be at least attempting to kick a goal from there. No confidence. I it is truly beyond his range then the runners should be going past to dish off and shoot.........

Having got that off my chest, great game again Fish - can't wait to see what develops next.

Very happy with how he's going.

And to think some people had him in the group if if they dont perform they are gone at the end of the year.

All i can say is

FEED the FISH!!!
..........but don't hurt the Fish :thumbsu:

IMO Fish is the second most important player in our forward line behind Fev. His ability to take contested marks means we can kick the ball long into the forward line with a bit of confidence, therefore overcoming floods & the double & triple teaming of Fev. Even if he doesn't take a mark, his contests ensure opportunities are created for our smalls & even Fev, who is as good a crumber as anyone going around. He is such a good reader of the play that he gets to more contests than most forwards.

30-40 goals is out of the question for Fisher. He's just not that good- never really been close to that level of production. But 25-30 would be an excellent return, for all the reason mediumsizered said above. That would probably translate into 40-45 goals once you take into consideration the extra opportunities for our midfield, and the extra weight off Fev's shoulders, and would go a long way towards us moving up the ladder.

I still reckon Kennedy will have more impact than Fisher, and Fish might struggle to hold his spot in 2-3 years, but we'll see (and hope) how he goes.

If he stays on the park, he's certainly good enough I feel. Especially with team improvement and better midfield delievery.

Injuries have cruelled him.

Only needs 2 a game to surpass that effort.

Exactly 100% spot on Thrawn. Are you an Accountant? :p
Seriosuly, he only has to average 1-2 goals a game and bang, there are your 30-40 goals from Fish. Not that difficult from a bloke that has as much talent as he does.
