Here we go, selection 39. Let's see what people decide. Did AFL screw up Tigers or salary is not around $600K, 5 years. I go with the first option, the committee did not like the compensation result of the formula

That compo is far more realistic than the speculation of first round
Yet Motlop and Lycett got given end of first round?
Yeah I hear you but even you know Ellis is barely with this compo received here.
Can’t have any complaints
I do think that’s about right for Ellis, but how can everyone be ok with the double standards shown?
You can’t punish a team for being successful, which is what Barrett has been sooking about all week. If Motlop and Lycett were apparently worth that much it means that Ellis is too.

Rules continue to made up as they go.
600k 5 years deal, player in his prime. All comparable deals have been a band higher.
Lol ****ing told yaPick 38 here we come

Stop sooking. Carlton got nothing for Waite and Betts, both far better players than Ellis.
You’d have to assume the AFL has stepped in with their ‘discretion’ clause here. The reported contract was probably worth band 2, but clearly Ellis as a player is not worth anything close to that. Tigers fans won’t like it, but the AFL actually got one right for once.
Teams shouldn't get any compensation for players over 30. You've had 12 years of services and if they leave it is because you don't really want them that badly( as was the case with Waite). Usually comes down to someone else giving them a 2 year deal over a one year deal.We got nothing for Betts because of Daisy, but I never understood the AFL’s reluctance to give us anything for Waite.
If not for Free Agency we’d still get a few token pick upgrades for him, and he had a very solid end to his career at North as it panned out.
Lol corrupt AFL bending to media pressure once again.
