I'm actually pretty confident in getting the result here.

4-5 goals.

No matter how "switched on" Adelaide are, I think we should dominate the midfield and then it just becomes a matter of more supply to our forwards than to theirs.

Our forward half efficiency and goal kicking accuracy is very good.

Maintain our usual standards and we win

We play Adelaide twice which did look good for us preseason going on 2022 form.
Now not so much, but we need to be able to beat teams anywhere anytime.
Lions just have to find a way to win this one and go into the bye with a 9-2 record.

If we win this one i think i will gamble a bit and arrange some flights and accommodation for the GF.

Bro it’s May.

I booked flights and accomodation one quarter into our first preseason game.

I maintain Adelaide isn't as good as they're being acclaimed. Literally the only results they can hang their hats on are beating Port and almost beating Collingwood. They got smacked by the Dogs and the Cats, the Blues, Fremantle and the Saints are fairly indifferent teams (I'd have them around the Adelaide mark), and lost to GWS and Richmond and barely beat Harley Reid, sorry, Hawthorn.

Full credit to them for making a step up this season, but I see them in the mix for the last few spost of the eight with teams like the Saints, Blues, Dockers, Suns, and like our wins over the others we played in that list I will be disappointed if we don't handle them fairly easily.

Holy Moses!!! Those pre 2018 scores are crazy! I know we were in a black hole during those years but I don't remember every team putting those kind of numbers on us.

Adelaide always used us as a percentage booster.

Betts, Walker, Jenkins, Tom Lynch and even Charlie back then playing for Crows used to tear us apart.

Yep, Win the midfield and we'll have too much to handle in forward line.

I'm secretly hoping we dish out a pumping to them like they used to do for us before 2018. We have the forward line to do it now.

We were at West coast losses level. Horrible years.

Like to think we will never go back to that level. All it takes is a couple of wrong decisions and poor appointments, like the wrong recruiter. Scary.

I am never that confident and if i am honest still not. How can one be at round 10.
Only booked things the last two years (then cancelled) and much later in the season.
To date i still have not flown from Brisbane to Melbourne.
In fact, i have never visited Melbourne but did drive past the city in 1972.
Can only hope this year is different.

I know North and West Coast were terrible last year but does this years West Coast remind anybody else of 2016 Brisbane?

Nothing but floggings and injuries and the inevitable loss of hope that maybe we’d be there forever at that point. Their list has a decent amount of youth but I doubt many actually make it yet they all get some games since there’s really no better choice.

I sympathise with them a lot because it just feels so familiar. We were so lucky the Bombers had a top up team that year or else we would’ve finished on two wins and clear bottom.

It got us Hugh and Berry though so that’s the silver lining. Withers currently at West Coast now from that draft so maybe West Coast will draft someone this year who goes on to play for the next disaster team.

That is a huge blow, Payne is one of our 3-4 most important players for our structure, I am assuming Darragh Joyce will come in for him.

Concussion being the reason is very concerning.

Think it was when Andrew’s knees him in the back of the head. Shame really. He’s been our best and most consistent player imo.

Bugger

That’s disappointing for him- he finally gets a good run and it and he’s out with concussion. Thankfully we’ve the bye the week after so he can have a good rest. It will be interesting to see if Gardener’s fitness is up to speed or if they go with Joyce again.

I think he copped a couple of brutal head hits from memory, Andrews one was the worst. Really bad news but hopefully this week plus the bye sees him good again.

Is Dizzy ready for a run, or we go Joyce?
