I might e-mail Fages & the club this week just to stress how much of a danger game this is.

It would really put my mind at ease knowing they understand the gravity of this week.

Will the text of your email be in bold red to emphasise the danger?

Might not mean much but surely winning more hitouts and hitouts to advantage is better than winning less

Oscar is pretty much the worst in those 2 categories of all full time rucks

If you just want clearances might as well ruck Daniher or Dunkley

This year Daniher has 23 hit outs and 14 clearances

Oscar is the top clearance winner for rucks though. I think we do just want clearances. I know I prefer clearances over hitouts to advantage.

Biggest challenge - Getting the MINDS in the Game knowing next week the MINDS have a rest.

It's a danger game with the travel after 2 weeks at home, it's a danger to be switched on when they are just a week away from having time off.

In our favour is round 1, Port Adelaide touched us up in Adelaide because we were asleep and expecting to win rather than doing the work. Fagan will be reminding them of that mishap - over and over. He will also point out hey travelled to Adelaide (Adelaide Hills) and it is (Adelaide) a bit familiar to us in 2023 so no excuses.

Lions again but 5 goals in late game charge which seems our thing at the moment. Payne to barrel Tex early, 2 big boys crashing in. Starc to blanket Rakine. Lachie and Linc to impress in-front of family. Charlie to remind the Crows what they lost and that he is still the best small forward going. Young Keays to play well, love that kid having watch him play as a junior with my boy.

All good in the hood, a week off for us all coming and we just want to relax through that with a nice win.

Hit out to advantage would almost always lead to a clearance though.
But either way I think we are one of the best clearance teams in the comp or clearance differential anyway.

And people talk about Oscars clearances but he has the worst disposal efficiency of all rucks at less than 50%. His clearances generally go straight to an opponent

Champion Data do measure clearance efficiency but don’t publish it. Clearance is defined as the first effective disposal in a chain that leads to the ball leaving the stoppage area, or a clanger kick or ineffective kick that causes the ball to leave the stoppage area. Clearance efficiency is the percentage of those clearances that don’t lead to immediate turnover. So his big handballs out count but not smashing it with his fist.

I think his handballs out usually lead to turnover but when he smashes it forward (especially in the centre) it immediately moves the ball from the centre to centre half forward where I feel like we get an inherent advantage due to a) being in our forward half and b) actual expecting it to occur whereas the opposition would not have.

Got a new patch for the playing kit this week. Just in case anyone forgets.

Absolutely, the Crows have actually played some of the best footy that I’ve seen this year. They’ll come out hot after last weekend. Just have to weather the storm and bring it home after half time. We will have to be on big time.
Their first quarter against Carlton was arguably the most damaging/clinical quarter of footy all year from any team. Everything they touched turned to gold.

As rye stated earlier in the thread - Adelaide seem to be where we were a few years back where they're able to trouble teams but aren't at the point of playing consistently strong footy. Their forward line in particular is really strong - I wouldn't be surprised if this game delves into a bit of a shoot out given the quality in the forward half that both team's have. Adelaide oval is slowly becoming a fortress for them, but Richmond beat them there so anything's possible.

Big O definitely has his positive traits, but his center bounces rucking is absolutely the worst of all the No.1 rucks going around. I would hazard a guess if you split his hitouts stats from CBAs and general Stoppages, his numbers would reflect this.

The problem is that our replacement in Fort is the exact opposite. He's much better in Center Bounces but probably worse around the ground.

I think the coaches have backed in the mids to get it done in the CBAs and we are +1.4 differential so far this year, so we are getting it done.

There is some contradiction in me saying "our CBAs have been good" and not acknowledging Oscars part in that, but I really do feel it's been inspire of him that it's happened.
