This is a good point, because if he’d landed instead on the surface of the Moon, the gravity would only be 1/6th that of Earth’s, and his forearm would likely have been fine.

We need to lobby the league for more lunar fixtures.
I don't think we need to go as radical as the moon - we should just play on trampolines.

He’s not finished. He will always be a good ruck. He’s not a match winner and def not worth anywhere near 900k. This is and always was the the problem. Hence why we’ve moved him on
Agreed. But based on the amount we're subsidising for him to play for Melb, his 5 year contract we're saving is equivalent to the 5 year contract we gave McStay. And based on exposed form, Grundy would be more of a match winner for us than McStay when McStay has been keeping the much more dangerous Ash Johnson out of the side.

He’s teaching him a lesson the way Draper taught Cameron a lesson last year.

Seems like all those who wanted Grundy gone are now suddenly feeling sensitive. Reality bites huh?
McRae and co wanted him gone. We are sitting 3-0 with a more balanced list. What’s this reality biting you speak of? Our clearance work has never been better. If this is reality, I want more of it

If we kept Grundy we wouldn't have been able to get Mitchell.

Just because we aren’t agreeing with you doesn’t make us sensitive, I’d rather have the cap space and our own 2 ruckman that can actually go forward and kick goals.
What’s the reality? That he’s playing a good game against a c grade ruckman?

Tell me one game recently that he was the match winner.

And so all those people banging on about how he is finished are making fools of themselves.

We know he isn't finished. He just won't reach the heights he has previously.

He's gone only because of what he was being paid, not because we didn't want to keep him. By moving him on we were able to bring in players like Mitchell who have already made a massive difference. It will continue to have an impact going forward as it will allow more free agency options.

Anyone who thinks Grundy is finished and isn't going to play any good footy over the next few years is kidding themselves. But he's also very unlikely to get close to justifying the amount of contract that we were able to clear.

3 rucks and Kreuger injured for the next few weeks and we'll probably get a bit of carry on about missing him, claims of a big mistake that the club made, but it's a ridiculously short term point of view - in comparison to the 5 years of very big money that the decision covers.

People keep saying that but what I'm saying is our list management team should've prioritised Mitchell as our no.1 trade target last year instead of last. And Grundy staying or not should only impact whether we get McStay or not.

Much rather a Grundy and Mitchell combo than a McStay and Mitchell.

But it's a Cox, Cameron, Mitchell combo.
They just need to get back. For now McStay should suffice.

You're not going to get a free agent over if you leave him to the last day of trade week - if another trade happens.

Personally, I think we were underplaying our interest in Mitchell and that trade was always going to happen.

Totally agree SR.

So it’s basically you not liking McStay. Got it.👍

The fact this is even a discussion means it’s not one-sided. I was won over by the evidence of the last 3 games. To move him on seems to have worked. But the more unhinged anti-Grundy folk can eat the truth, which is he’s performing well this week and will probably get better as he gets fitter. So yeah, reality bites them. And I’m glad because eedjots need a reality check.

He may get back to his best for all I know.
The fact is he has been average for a long time.
