He was un aware the ball spilled as his head was pinned to Kreuzeers back he turns him trying to bring the much larger guy to ground using his weight against him.

It is a good tackle if kreuzer held onto the ball. The fact he didnt was why a free was paid for holding the man. Which is all it deserves.

Fair enough, personally I think the ünaware where the ball was argument doesnt cut it for me. But I'm not going to bore myself and everybody else arguing about Dangerfield. Not especially interested either way except to compare the incident to the Grundy one. And I think the circumstances are cosiderably different such that they arenet really comparable.

Christ there are some tools in the media (the likes of Stevo who didn't play) who are really calling for him to be suspended. Why must they be so desperate to get their opinions out there, right or wrong?
Click bait

Because they are nothing as people with out it.
Inadequate nobodies so need something like this to squeal "look at moi, look at moi... "

So was the bump once, a great shirt front was lauded once upon a time. Even now its gets everyone on their feet.
That is true.

Exhibit A: Stan Margo ironing out Jesaulenko, you beauty.

But the one thing about the bump, it's easy to adjudicate, touch head, you're in trouble.

Tackling is a more difficult beast, so much part of the game, if soft tackling becomes the vogue then disposal will be too easy from a tackle.

Brown should be suspended for having no awareness what so ever. How you can play in the highest level and think you can stand the way he did for the time and have no idea what's around you in concerning.

I assume all the North supporters calling for Grundy's head are also in support of Ziebell's suspension?

At least the ball was in the area in the Grundy case, but we all know the outcome outweighs the action which is why the game has gone to crap. Simply put, you cannot suspend Grundy without suspending Ziebell.

Have any of our trusted journos or commentators mentioned the Etihad surface yet? It seems to be the common denominator.

This needs to be addressed in a major way. There's no doubt that impacts are harder here and consequently more dangerous.
It's my understanding that when the stadium was built they skimped on adding a rubbery layer over the concrete. The entire surface needs to be replaced and this factored in.

I a man actually puzzled. This notion of the perfect tackle when you "hold" one arm and bring a player down is a relatively new concept. The reason why it's the "perfect" tackle is because it gets rewarded with a free kick! However I have a fundamental problem with the holding the arms below the elbo vs pinning the arms in a tackle. I actually see no difference between tackling below the knee and below the elbo because fundamentally both arms and legs are used to legally dispose of the ball. I don't like the look of it. As an extension, I don't like it when a players is on their knees and they get tackled by the opposition with the other player holding the wrist! Now I would like to know where is the prior opportunity to dispose of the ball legally come in that scenario? They can't legally kick it and their arm is being held! To me that's a ball up every time. Anyway my 2 cents worth!

He was, for 3/4 of a game.

I said it last night and it's worth repeating.
We are in a transition period. The rules have changed and the pinning of the arms now comes with a duty of care.
Players and coaches will adapt, as they have to other rule changes, and within 12 months these concussions will be a rarity.

If players can't pin arms what can they do?

I would challenge it if he gets done but I do think based on the concussion issues that the players need to temper their aggressive tackling styles moving forward. What Grundy did was fine for 100 plus years but they are changing the goal posts. We need to adjust with them. Possibly more of a focus on dropping the knees and bringing them to ground rather than swinging them to ground with momentum. Probably easier said than done but it's likely the way forwards.

To be fair on player Magro he flew for the mark and the sun was in his eyes!

Youre welcome to back this up with examples of players being kod from a knee in a high marking contest

One 2 weeks ago from Daw. Obviously at a guess. There is usually someone groggy or ko'd every few rounds or so. Remembering you dont have to be knocked out to get concussed.

How many Ko'd a year do you think comes from tackles it would be lucky to be in double figures. Again at a guess.

Your also welcome to list the opposite to back up your veiws, always asking for people to prove their guesstimates but never your own assertions to the contrary.

Being KOd or concussed from a tackle is not a regular occurence every round (despite the last 2 weeks) just like knees in marking contests are not a regular occurence.
