But you're giving one up in Lyons? Quite a bizarre argument and backs up everyone that follows and works for Carlton that we won't be taking your 5th best midfielder....
Where am I giving up Lyons?
I've only ever spoken about the First round pick/McGovern?
No other Crows poster speaks for me? Nor do they speak for our trading team.

Depends how much they want him. They have the cattle and depth in small and tall forwards, which just so happens to be a real area of need for us.

Agree totally, they have the means to complete a deal that would be adequate compensation for the Baggers.
Considering the significance and intrinsic value of the Gibbs heritage in South Austalia and where the Crows are at in the scheme of things, my gut feel is they play ball and give us a favorable deal.

We got Daniel Talia at pick 13. Hell we got Sloane at pick 44. If your recruiters know what they want and are good at what they do, pick 13 alone for Gibbs could be a win for your club, but chuck a decent young player on top of that such as Lyons/CEY who were in our best 22 at periods throughout the year, and it's very even for both clubs.

Your recruiters ranked Shaun McKernan above Rory Sloane. Don't mistake luck for skill.

SOS has apparently turned down pick 13 and Lyons already*.

No real point discussing it if Carlton have already rejected it.

*According to the media.

This is correct, Gibbs is a contracted and required player, they will be made to pay after hanging our club and Gibbs out to dry by forcing the issue with the comment that 'Gibbs wants to go home'... Poor form by the Crows.

If Dion Prestia, the 175cm meatball with 94 games and a year ruined by a knee injury is being looked at for pick 6, (regardless if it's Richmond, we know they are incompetent, but that's the pick being bandied around) for a tall versatile Gibbs with a Best and Fairest and 209 games in 10 seasons and hitting his peak is worth deemed to be worth pick 13? That doesn't work, it doesn't make sense.
Pick 6 is overs, everyone knows this

Sorry for the intrusion Blues fans. I think Adelaide needs midfielders with a hard edge. With this in mind, do you guys think Gibbs would be a good fit at the Crows? Not that long ago there we're frustrated Carlton supporters blasting Gibbs for being soft. Is physicality still an issue with his game?

The only other thing that bothers me is age. Gibbs would be 28 by the time he plays a game for Adelaide. We'd be lucky to get two decent years out of him.

Brad crouch resigned for four years in August. Loves the club and is with his brother. No chance! its Jarryd Lyons or cam Ellis-Yolman with pick 13.. Simple as that.. Wait and see ;)

I think you are dreaming.

The arrogance of Adelaide supporters is astounding.

Let me see - we are supposedly filling in the "missing piece" in your "premiership window" and yet all you are willing to part with is
a LATE 1st round pick and a 2nd tier player.

Think about it logically for a second - is that what you would call a "fair trade" for someone of Gibbs' capabilities. I would prefer him to sit out the year playing for no one than taking that type of shafting.

Physicality is only an issue with his game if he is required to be physical or opponents are being physical with him.

But serious, you don't wear a man bun because you're a hard bas **** hahahaha

Actually I don't. I am a big Lyons fan. I believe he will finish in the top 10 of your B&F.

We have low balled him because we have similar players and we need trade bait to get players similar to Gibbs.

Oh lordy... You really are in another universe.

So on one hand you are saying Gibbs isn't worth much, but on the other hand you are saying you are undervaluing your own players to get Gibbs...you really are all over the shop.

Hope Adelaide crash and burn next year. The arrogance of their supporters irritates me. Will be going for GWS to beat your team by 100 points in the finals. Will be enjoyable.

Of course he'd be good and you don't just need....as you say....hard-edged midfielders.
You have to have some with class amid the nose-to-the-grindstone types and Gibbs would offer you that in spades.

As confident as the media may be in regards to a Gibbs move, this is far from over the line, just yet....and the heroes saying you're going to get 'this and have to take it' may be in for a bit of a surprise.

i wouldn't call him soft, but he's definitely more effective as an outside player rather than an inside. that did strike me as odd that the crows would be looking at gibbs when rockliff probably fits the bill a lot better...

I don't really go to other teams boards.

Out of curiosity, is there a heap of Carlton posters over on the Adelaide board, telling them how this deal will go down and that they'll like it?

IMO, A fair trade that I would like to see happening (unlikely it will) that benefits multiple clubs is:

Z. Tuohy to Geelong
S. Motlop to GWS
C. Marchbank and J. Barrett to Carlton
Carlton 3rd round to GWS

B. Gibbs and 2nd round to Adelaide for Crouch or McGovern and 13

I would then love to see Carlton trump the greedy Hawks and try and turn pick 5 into Tom Mitchell

Personally I hope it doesn't get over the line. If Adelaide really wanted Gibbs they needed to go hard at him years ago. It definitely feels like Adelaide is chasing its "final piece of the premiership puzzle" which I feel is a short-sighted approach to list management. Just look at what happened to Port when they started thinking this way.
