And why does it matter if the players are kept out of the loop?

They should have absolutely zero say in who the coach is or if the club is deciding to move them on.

Exactly. They aren't children (although they have been treated as such)

Their job is to play footy.

The rest is run by administration so i see no reason why it should affect or involve them at all, as their purpose hasn't changed.

so three weeks ago Scott went to the club and tried selling his plan for the future, the club rightly said we don't like it, we've enough ice and oil thanks and we're not Eskimos! Then started a process which would see us part ways.

I'm going to try and find out what his future plans held- would be very interesting.

You're talking about a leader, mentor, and friend that these players have been around for years.

A footy club, especially a family club like NMFC, is built upon the strengths of it's people.

Regardless of whether or not a coaching change was the right move (it was), to pretend that the players/staff/coaches won't be sad to see their close acquaintances is ridiculous.
Not going by what Peter Church says.
BS only communicates with 9 senior players on a regular basis. The others don't have much to do with him directly.
Example, Zurhaar has probably had anything to do with BS at most 8 times.

Not a lot of detail in Ziebell's comments with David King walking off the ground at half-time, but he said this;

"Brad's a star, mate. I rate him so highly".

But sure; tell me again how the players will be happy to see Brad Scott leave.

Tom Morris on fox footy just said Brad Scott went to a board meeting three weeks ago with a plan for the future and the board disagreed with him.
From then the writing was on the wall

Interesting when Dean was asked to present back in 2009, half way through his presentation he realised he couldn’t go on and his time was up.
Whereas Brad did present (albeit contracted) and the board said no.

If we win today watch Kingy out there back slapping as per usual

They tried to get Kingy to bite during the game and he perfectly deflected

There's no doubt the players love him, but surely they realise he's holding them back in terms of what they should be achieving.

Pm please

So Saints and the Blues are after Scott according to Morris.

Sounds like a good fit. Brad will be able to ensure they keep performing at the same level as they have been in recent years.
