lol questioned his coaching after 1 game. Do you know how stupid that is?

Stupid? He's still making the same mistakes he did in his first game. Now that is stupid.

Simpson gets my vote by Scott is right up there in 2018. He is more chance to get extended than sacked.

VFL/AFL finishing positions (1925–present

2nd (Runner Up) 1950, 1974, 1976, 1978, 1998 5
3rd 1949, 1958, 1979 , 1983, 1994, 2007 6
4th 1945, 1954, 1982, 1985, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2014, 2015 9

Once again I have to point out your comprehension issues. Your inability to understand goes along way to explaining your love for the most unsuccessful coach in AFL history.

AFL teams to win the GF from below 5th: 1. That's right, there is always the possibility of a Steven Bradbury (ala Dogs) but the chances of a second are slim to none.

Now seriously, run along over to the Kudos thread and tell your mate over there how well he's doing.

We had a thread a while back comparing our rebuild about 8 years ago to what was taking place now. A few wise heads thought the earlier build broke down partly due to rising up the ladder too quickly, and there were concerns that a repeat performance was where things could go wrong this time.

As the wins came this year, it seems to me, a number of the wise heads among us became seduced by the idea of finals again. Not surprisingly, given the last two premiers, the fairytale flag began to seem a real target that some of us wouldn't blame the club for shooting at.

IMHO that lack of resolve, steel and discipline regarding the rebuild was a mistake, again. This gamble on the present isn't surprising coming from Scott, who despite all his words about long term this and that, has consistently in his actions heavily prioritised the now over the future. Unlike in recent history, there's no reason to fear ladder position and compromise a list build because of it. Disappointing year that may have got us closer to our next flag, but not as much closer as we could and should have been.

And you believe him?

You believe the KT has a secret source in the inner sanctum at the football club feeding - just him - information about an inside revolt against Scott?
No one in the world knows about this except KT and his inside mole?

Anyone believing this is as deluded as the poster posting this as a fact.
And why should I believe your deluded fantasy that Scotts is the best coach ever!
He has no plan B and hasn’t really developed any players and his inability to reward form players in the vfl is simply baffling

Best coach ever? Now your making rubbish up.

So how have we doubled our wins if he hasn’t developed any players? What VFL players do you want in the side that will make a difference?

I think he's coached well for large parts of this season but he's only "doubled our wins" back to position neutral (11-11 or thereabouts). We've never finished in the top four after the home and away season under Brad, which obviously leaves us with too much to do when we do make finals.

He's the very definition of a treadmill coach. Then again so was Hardwick until they overhauled their assistants and got marquee guys like Caracella and Leppitsch in. It will be 2043 and we'll still be wheeling Crocks, Tudor and Jared Moore around the club.

They did more than that didn't they? Getting in Neil Balme as footy manager seemed to make a difference as well. And not just cos he knows how to rock a brown paper bag.

Yeah for sure. Point is if you're not going to change the coach, at least change things around him when things are stagnant. The "boys club" analogy Tef likes to champion does seem somewhat relevant.

Yeah. I wouldn't be adverse to having a football manager type come from outside that has the seniority and experience to push against the insular boundaries a bit. Sometimes it's handy as well to have a player orientated coach that is able to say to his player - that's not my decision, it was above me and you have to go out of the team. Coach is able to be the player's coach still but hard decisions can still be made without upsetting that.

Well that is how you come across defending Scotts against any sort of examination
Easy to double your wins from a low base
Let’s see if he can double them next year
I am happy to reward any VFL player that deserves to be in on form and replaces someone down on form. That is how you generate hunger and desire to stay in the team, not by gifting games to players in the hope that their form may turnaround.

I just believe in backing the club and the coaches and players. They have a lot better idea than the arm chair critics they continually drag them down.

Did you see us winning 12 games this year? Did you think a Gaff would even be looking at us if we were the Blues or Saints? It will be a lot easier to land a big fish playing the way we have.

Sometimes I think about the alternative coaches other teams have to put up with... Worsfold... Bolton... Buckley... Richardson... Hinkley... just to name a few and then all of a sudden i feel much better that we have someone who can speak and represent professionally.

Good or even average coach's are a true rarity in AFL, be grateful for what we have until someone better is available.

Grateful? Yes because if Scotts wasn't coaching us it could be worse. What sort of mentality is that? :stern look

There are only two coaches in the AFL who I would prefer over Scott. When you find someone better you let me know
Buckley has coached incredibly this year, not sure I'd put him in that group.

I don't buy it. Buckley was gifted Grundy Stephenson De-Goey and Treloar. All the teams motivation comes from Eddie. Plus he's cringe worthy in front of the media

Currently coaching in the AFL there are 5 Premiership Coaches. There are also another 3 Coaches that have got their teams into Grand Finals. So yeah I suggest you look harder. :stern look

You could even throw Brother Chris into that. Look at his all star midfield, yet he may not even make finals. After the 2011 flag they haven't done much despite a list that for the most part has been far superior to Brads....

If Mr Scott was serious about “re-building”, why have guys like Luke Mac, J Mac and Sam Wright continued to be gifted games?
That's a fair point Clokey. I was looking at the team for Sundays game vs Adel and I found myself asking, "How many of these guys have their best footy AHEAD of them?"
Answer: Not many. Which isn't great considering we are "re-building". And really, I think Brad has conned the football world into thinking we are "re-building". He really has virtually stuck with the same group he has had faith in for the last 5 years.

I would HOPE that Simpkin, Dumont, Clarke, Wood & Walker have better footy ahead of them. The other 17 players named, are probably at their maximum output as it is. Is that really a re-build?????

Well I have egg on my face, I thought it impossible for BS to coach worse, or for us to play worse than we did against Western. Jokes on me it would seem.

He's got NFI- Crows are just going.

He knows the issues and it’s only some fine tuning required.

He could be coaching the all Australian side and he’d still get beaten.

Guys on the loose racking them up again - wtf does he do at training

Hand out the Hawaiian shirts

Gifted Grundy??

We had the ****ing chance to draft him but took a bloke with tissue paper hamstrings...
