i'm sorry but scott only wants to win, he only ever "plays the kids" when we're mathematically not a chance - virtually every coach (except those in extreme rebuilds) play the experience players to try and win every week. It's up to list management and match committee to push the case for playing the kids.

But you also seem to not understand that it's a balance of youth and experience - otherwise you throw in all the kids and end up like brisbane, suns, carlton and melbourne, left with a losing culture that gets the club no where.

"stubborn faith to the game plan" is not what happens when you're 5 goals up and then lose the lead in one quarter, that's 100% on the players no being switched on after half time.

I'm glad you made that point though because it's been VERY clear throughout this year that after halftime the players have more often than not come out with a new message that they've understood and executed well. This in fact proves your point totally false.

the admin and football dept comment is backed up by no evidence, you're again wrong with this and i'm not going to say why unless you bother to write an argument instead of making statements like that because you're emotional.

mish mash of ideologies - thanks for that evidence, really rams your point home.....and i love how you have somehow linked that with player development. such a rational argument!

Thought I replied to your post in a calm, reasoned, thought out and respectful manner.....anyway..

I flip it on to you and give you a chance to give a counter arguement of which im very happy to be proven wrong, but what did you define as a successful year this year, and what have you seen this year that gives you hope that there will be significant improvement over the next couple of years?

i'm not saying you're not calm in your response, but your response are just vague criticisms they literally every teams supporters say after a loss.

what gives me hope:

anderson, daw (both i thought would be delisted) and ziebell have all cemented spots and becoming (if not already) elite new positions. That's a huge turn around and should give you faith in our player development.

Cunnington and higgins have gone to another level. Goldy is almost back to his best.

Despite massive media attention that we'll be winning the spoon - we're fighting for a top 8 spot. pushed Richmond to their limits, beat WCE, sydney and hawthorn while having barely any upsets except for essendon (even they were favs) and WB (GCS in rd 1 doesn't count). This is something the old north was always guilty of throughout the prelim years - often upset top teams but always were upset by much lesser teams.

We have KPP knocking down the door at both ends of the ground in Larkey and Mckay.

Ahern looks to be better than Wells.

Brad has become much more flexible with players and as a coach. Like i said, after half time this year we've turned around a few games and it's obvious the team has bought into his plan and any adjustments to said plan throughout the game.

Have access to potentially (hopefully) 2 first rounders next year and are using the minimum salary cap.

Also have a sleeping giant in LDU waiting to explode next year.

Our coaches missing in action yesterday. Beverage had 2game plans. 1st half full ground press didn't work so he implemented plan to run& spread. The Bont had 17 possessions and nobody
went near him. Hunter,Daniels and McRae running riot on the outside. NADA reaction from our box. Have we got a plan B?

Did not rip into the guys , it was " just another day at the office". Personally reckon Scott is extremely happy with how we've gone in 2018. Some did suggest we'd be bottom three and he's stuck it up 'em with our 9th - 12th season ladder position...

Oh well had a half hour Monday chat and heads will not roll after that capitulation. Not even sure where to from here?

No doubt, but why wouldn't he bring in a running machine like Hibberd who has been getting plenty of the ball and just tell him to lock down on Hunter, rather than getting Kayne ****ing Turner to do that?

Hunters 44 would have become 24, we would have won the match, and be right in finals contention.

A truly diabolical selection/coaching exhibition yesterday.

Yeah just letting you know his papers are stamped, pretty confident when I state that.

"Just another day at the office" hey? Very poor choice of words IMO. Supporters are shattered by the loss & shattered by the fact finals are now out of the equation & yet for Scott, he makes out like it's no big deal. Heaven forbid he shows some anger towards the playing group or shows that he's filthy by the loss. Much better he sit there and say he expected that, Bulldogs are a quality side & losing that game was all part of the master plan going forward.

I think what really irritates NM fans re Scott, is that it seems like a loss hurts us more, than it does him. Yesterday was far from just another day at the office for me, I can assure you.

Gee what a surprise. Heads will not roll. Where is the accountability? What does the playing group learn from this? Sickening. :stern look

I still have a look of disgust on my face today. From the NMFC Board down the club needs to have a long hard look at itself. :stern look

Al Clarkson would have ripped paint of the walls, our boys jump on their phones and it's all shits and giggles. Just another day at the office. Yeah am now just winding myself up again.

**** we are a frustrating club to follow. And I can’t see anything too exciting on the horizon. I don’t want another ****en decade of being in the middle of the ladder achieving 2/5ths of **** all. What’s the solution? Do we have the right personnel at the club to make it happen?

SnakeBaker summed it up elsewhere- administration is the key and ours hasn't been flash

Well we can only hope it was a 'we have a chance to redeem ourselves this week' type of talk....the season is not over.....etc etc

The players need to take ownership as well - especially the leaders in the midfield who got their pants pulled down.

I would like to see the midfield come out hard this week. Scott's job will be to ensure that happens - to mix it up a bit as well.

Hartung and Jacobs in will help that cause. Ahern and LMAc look shot but I imagine Walker and Clarkey will get the axe.

We can still make an average season into a good season with a win this week - and its Scotty's 200th so they will want to chair him off!!!

You better upload Slobbo GR, he just gave our coaches a BIG serve.

Called yesterdays effort "scandalous"
Good.
Bring the heat. I’m wrapped.
Been too easy thus far since the shambolic performance.

Up on facebook as well.

Can't disagree one bit. I was shocked to see that stat of 40 ****ing touches to 3 players.

That 3rd quarter was by FAR even against our worst overall games this year, our absolute worst quarter performance all season, probably in the past few years too. it was that bad.

The game still leaves me sick just thinking about it, I don't care how far we exceeded expectations for not being a wooden spoon. Thats not what I expected, I know we were always better than bottom 4 and a spoon, good enough to make the 8. But what I saw yesterday was not my team.

It was a sickening display.

Its all when and good to play your veteran stars every week Brad, always have to pick the best 22

But when those players are clearly out of form/injured/cooked and we have players consistently playing well in the VFL to come straight in to replace you NEVER make the call. You run them into the ground until there is nothing left and frankly i am sick of saying the same thing every single year

Hibberd, Mountford, Nielson, Mckay etc have all been consistently performing for over a month but players like Lmac, Thompson (cooked unfortunately) week after week are selected because you refuse to improve on your stubbornness.

When a player isn't playing good footy they aren't best 22 anymore no matter who they are

Had a gut full

Enough is enough. 5 year’s a go I started the first BBB thread and nothing has changed. We’ve lost another game after being 5 goals up, despite the easy fixes.

The snakeoil that he spews has been bought but many one here but I’m hoping they are starting to see. The building for the short, mid and long term just hasn’t been done and Scotts hasn’t been able to develop our young players.

What annoyes me most is the lack of accountability our players seem to have. It’s as rare to see the word omitted on our Thursday team sheets, unless of course you’re a first year player.

Now if you’re still thinking Scotts is the man then piss of to the Kudos thread and talk up how he’s coach of the year, but if you’re like me and want him gone then this is the place for you. AND the best thing is Gaso has me on ignore so he won’t fill up this thread with his typical combination of dribble and cat gifs.

If we got a new coach for 2019 will you want him gone after 1 game?

Seriously some supporters annoy me and are ultra negative. Brad has done a brilliant job with the list at the start of the year and we have had a great year. Most expected us to be bottom 3. With some big name players hopefully coming we will only get better. A lot of supporters are up and down like a flipping yoyo. Take a chill pill.
Agree - Dusty and Kelly turned us down last year - who wants to come to a bottom 4 side???

Scott has got the team playing some great footy and now luring a big name is much easier. The side has improved from 2017 - you don't sack a coach that is improving the side.

There is something seriously wrong with a coach who doesn't have the balls to drop a senior player. If a senior player is on the list he MUST be picked. That is what we found out in 2016 when he refused to give Harvey, Petrie, Firrito and dal Santo another year. Yes he has the courage to delist them, but he doesn't have the courage to send them back to the Magoos when form or fitness warrants it.

I am not calling for Brad to be sacked, i am calling for him to improve as a coach for the reasons i pointed out

I think he has improved as a coach (playing Zeebs forward, Daw backline, Jed etc) but his stubbornness at the selection table gets on my nerves

He has had what 9 years to develop that side of his coaching? Not good enough

once again you've highlighted my ability to see what a poor coach Scotts is after just one game. Funny how after nine years he's making the same errors...despite how much he has learnt from all our losses!!

He's only being spoken about as coach of the year because of the unrealistic predictions by idiots.
