that could be one of the worst jumpers in the ammo's,there was nothing wrong with the old one

Can confirm that he is down at Skye as Ass Coach.
Apparently Parkdale have a lot of young blokes down there this year, hopefully one of them may be able to step up. If not they still have the ever reliable war horses in Macca & Mick Sullivan, will still take a very good player to man them.

I saw Rowley play 2 years ago and he was finished then! An overweight slug who would kick a couple of goals when games where already won or lost.

Not much in the intellect stakes either so he'll fit in well at Skye. Isn't Skye the next suburb to Erinsborough?. I'm sure Parkdale would rather play a kid and look to the future.. They will also save a heap of money on footy jumbers and shorts as they will be able to make 4 normal size jumpers with Rowleys old one....

Can anyone give me a final result of the Hampton Rovers vs St Albans praccy match from yesterday.
I left 5 mintues into the third qtr and Rovers were struggling, Not sure where they are at with their preparation coming into C grade but the old fat blokes from St Albans were running rings around them.

Swish! i can hear his hair rustling in the breeze. That is the 'old' Old Carey jumper Bedford, and c'mon, you have uhsob, swinburne, Yarra Valley,Parkdale, and many many others worse than that one surely!

Life-of-Brian, Hampton Rovers went down by only 2-3 goals against St Albans, but bear in mind that a lot of the Rovers players didn't play due to CMCA Longmuir Shield cricket final commitmments. We'll get a better idea of where the Rovers are at after the Easter break.

surely ormonds poo brown and blue is worse! the original jumper from st pats days had to be altered when they merged with parkdale - what can you do?

Hampton's team on saturday had around 10 players under that age of 21 with only a couple of them having senior experience before, the boys did extremly well and with the senior blokes that need to come back in hampton will be looking strong this year and in the future with the young lads coming through.

Would hardly say he was finished 2 years ago, i think it was then that he kicked 13 in a game against Hampton. Last few years he has had knee problems still managed 7 in a game last year against Whitefriars and still kicked 40+ for the year.

An overweight slug who would kick a couple of goals when games where already won or lost.

Also remember him kicking a winning goal after the siren against NOBs only 2 years back. Dont think the game was won or lost then!

I'd be surprised if it was 40+ LY or any year for that matter, even so 2 goals a game is hardly quality at full forward and I also believe the only injury he has had in his career was the fear of a cold winters night training session.

As for the game against KNOBS I'm told that it was 3 years ago as he played mostly 2's two years ago, not even making the team for their huge semi win against Ormond. Not really worthy of putting in your career highlights...and he "was" (past tense) hardly a comparison to Sullivan (the tall one), Rochford or MacGeorge...

He's past footy let alone C grade ammo's. He'd be pushing 120kgs by now and one injury away from the end. I'm sure they'll keep him well feed down at Skye for a year...

Rupo are having a conclave tonight to gather the fortitude to expostulate a season that is felicitous to us. Hither we have been able to engirdle reasonable rank in Amateur football, but are looking to take a more nefarious outlook to our year in 2008.

Your right Cscape. His past is well behind him, At mid 30's you wouldn't expect it to be coming up. He didn't kick 40+ last year. high 20's would be about right. The rest of your info was not very correct. 2005 season he played 2's, the NOBS, Hampton and Ormond game were all in the same season 2006. Aswell as kicking 5 against St. Bedes. So you have seen him play maybe 3 games that season against St Bedes and have a rock solid opinion. Nothing like trying to start a little bit of crap for your own humour. Stick to the A grade thread.

i have just read the "A" grade thread and i am truly blanching. To debase teams in amateur football is prosaic to say the least. The deprecation of teams steeped in amateur tradition is disturbing and chills the bones at the thought of them possibly suggesting an achromatic chaos of things. As we all are trudging forward to the hopes of 2008 we are dredged in a cloak of darkness that surrounds the morals of our great competition.

So A grade teams 'paying' players? No different to what's been happening in C grade. Old Camberwell paying ex AFL players via very comfortable jobs in which players can earn anywhere up to 100K while studying a full time course at uni. I'm not sure coming into the office 2.5 days a week for filing duties demands a wage of that amount...
Might be just me but it's not really in the spirit of the VAFA...

HB. Have you been doing english lessons over the summer?

Oh, BTW, Uglydermie & Uncle Mick, the look on Phil Tufnell's face when Australia regained the Ashes in 2006-7.....PRICELESS!!

I've seen him a quite a few more times than that, including the St.Bedes game you mention where he kicked 4 in the last qtr after STB's where leading by 70 points and had taken off most of their best players. A perfect example of his style....I don't know why you would defend him - maybe it's you who should change threads and look up the Southern Div 3 thread cause that's where his finishing his lowly career until the 2009 Biggest Loser auditions....

Why wouldn't I defend a former teamate against someone who states a lot of things about him, but doesn't have many facts true.
