Let's hope the "go home" factor doesn't kick in.
We need to remember that we as fans see a player's tenure in terms of a career.

Players see it as a contract - everything is negotiable from there - we only need to look at the last trade period to understand that attitude.

Which isn't what I said, nor what I was trying to say. I think an 18 year-old hitting the target at an above average rate by foot, who looks to be pretty a pretty penetrating kick of the footy too, is a good place to start. Not a huge cause for concern, but nonetheless something to work on.

He's a good not great kick, and most of his mis-kicks seem to not stem from a technical fault. I'm just not worried is all

And as I've indicated, I think it'll improve. Seriously, if the worst thing that can be said about his performance YTD is that some of his field kicking isn't as you'd like then the kid is going okay.

He isn't going to be your pin point passing wingman.

He has a raking left boot though and his hard at the contest. He's an older fashioned wingman with more height.

Where he can be serious value is his ability to push forward, his set shot kicking is sublime.

It's been so long since we've had kids come in and look comfortable at this level immediately.

Nothing but praise for Poults.

It's all about how he goes once he has the inflated head that all YOUNG AFL/Collingwood players get in years 2 and 3..

Don't turn into a flog and keep working hard and will be a gun

Some People have very high Standards for Kids

He is doing better than okay Jack, you know that in your heart of hearts, I`m confused a little as going by the way you jump to the defense of a certain player who has been an ordinary suburban footballer for 5 years for us , Poulter is doing beautifully and will be an out and out star with a few AA coming his way.

Some People have very high Standards for Kids

I think we all want our kids performing to high standards, but there's a reason players are generally given that 50-100 game to establish themselves.

It sure makes it easier though when, as Poulter and Bianco have done, you can just say “ok, keep doing that or better and you’ll be picked every week”. Gets them to 50 games surprisingly quickly!

Well Said.

Take around 70-100 Game to really find there feet and have more of an Idea how good they will be

I think his output was better but I remember more people talking about Pendles because of the class he oozed even then
Pendlebury was always of a higher consistent standard right from his 1st game and he has maintained that gap between he and Thomas right through the years it is unfortunately dropping now but he has been a superb player for us. Thomas in 2011 got close to Pendles maybe even exceeded him but it only lasted weeks, Pendlebury had him covered comfortably the rest of their careers.

The media has a hard on over Cox while his numbers match up very similar.

Don’t get me wrong Cox most likely will end up a better player.

The media circle jerk is sickening for Cox. They've already anointed him as this years Rising Star winner so will keep pushing his case on a weekly basis.

Poulter is quietly assembling a fantastic debut season.
