As predicted, another Number 1 draft pick is in line to join the hawks, Brett Deledio.

Problem is they all have their best football behind them, wonder if they will get Luke Hodge back or Anthony Banik.

If you have a bunch of guys in/past their prime not getting the job done and a bunch of babies that rarely translates to success.

of those youngsters you mention, none of them, at this stage in their careers, could be considered better than a 50/50 chance of a 100 game career.
of course not, but I wouldn't be very surprised if there was 2 or 3 150 gamers in that group.

hawthorn are well on the way with this

4 years without winning a final and the oldest list in the comp

How many finals did the Tigers win in the 4 years leading up to 2017? Lost a final to the blues who only got a call up due to the Essendon drug saga. Then in another final they were that rattled couldn’t even tell which way the wind was blowing and lost it in the first 15 minutes. 2016 finished 13th and Hardwick was very very close to being sacked!

Re to old we have a number of quality players in our core group that will still be around next 4-7 years to lead the club. We are coming ..... the fear is amusing.

not sure what any of this has to do with now.

2020, we will be reigning premiers and hawthorn will be on the way to their 5th year not winning a final with the oldest list in the comp

Not fear, pity

That is absolutely hilarious 😂 ..... pity towards the Hawks. Over the last 4 decades 99% of the time the Tigers have been the laughing stock of the competition while the Hawks have averaged a premiership every 4.46 years since 1961.

Hawks have just come out of a three peat and fast forward 4 years have transitioned the playing list that will challenge for silverware once again in the near future. Don’t want or need anyone’s pity.

hawks have the equal oldest according to that:

Collingwood 34 players 5 (+3 cat B) 25.4 years
Geelong 34 players 3 (+2 cat B) 25.4 years
Hawthorn 32 players 6 (+2 cat B) 25.4 years
West Coast 35 players 2 (+0 cat B) 25.4 years

without going silly with decimal points

further more hawthorn has the least players currently which is problematic given how much of the list if around the 30 yoa mark

also, there are dozens of posts in the thread by hawks fans saying that website is crap. Which is a bit unfair given the people which make it seem to put in a lot of effort and its quite up to date

There are also talks of Deledio being a mid season draft picks which wont help the average ago profile if the great man gets a run

I know absolutely nothing about Andy Otten except the fact he was pretty putrid to be honest on 2017 grand final day.

Who wasn't? I reckon Taylor Walker could get a gig at the WC Beagles, if he was prepared to compete with Drew Petrie...

As an aside, if Brett Deledio played half a year of VFL footy without the demands of AFL level and magically didn't keep injuring his calf I wonder if he would be in the mix for a mid season draft pick up.
