I'd like to see Wenger rewarded with at least one trophy for assembling a decent side that plays the right way, without breaking the bank to do it.

If it were any other manager, I'd agree with this, but Wenger is an arrogant twat so screw him.

GO BLUES!:thumbsu:

can't see anything but a Scum win though 2-1 ET (DODGY scum style Penalty to decide the winner)

Wrong again, Embers. Team vs Ipswich last round ...

Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Djourou, Clichy, Denilson, Fabregas, Wilshere, Bendtner, Arshavin, Van Persie

But then you'd still try and convince everyone that's a reserves team.

Team on Sunday will be:

Szczesny
Sagna - Djourou - Koscielny - Clichy
Song - Wilshere
Nasri
Bendtner* - Van Persie - Arshavin

Bendtner is the only uncertainty. Nasri could stay wide right and we could play either Rosicky, Denilson or Diaby in midfield.

My bad. I didnt realise Arsenal only played 1 game to qualify for the Carling Cup final. I take back what I said . Lets look at the side versing Newcastle

Sczensy
Eboue Djourou Koscienly Gibbs
Eastmond Rosicky Denilson Walcott
Bendtner Vela

At the time Fabianski was the starting keeper so all in all you went with 3 starters. If thats not a reserves like team what is

Wow you are stupid. brb playing XI our best the whole way through the competition.

and they still won 4-0 didn't they?

You should of seen the team Newcastle fielded. Think they had 1 starter all up playing.

My point is the best 11 didnt play the tournament so why should they play now? FINALLY you get my point ben. Congratulations. Only took 4 pages.

These players should waltz into the 11 if fit.

Eboue
Gibbs
Denilson
Bentdner
Rosicky
Arshavin

In fairness to Walcott hes played alot of the tournament and deserves a start. Cesc Fabregas on the other hand would be as worthy as Henri Lansbury of a start. Team really should be

Scszensy
Eboue Djourou Koscienly Gibbs
Arshavin Denilson Wilshere Rosicky
Bentdner RVP

With Carlos Vela driven around given a lap of honor at half time

You play your best team in a final when you want to win the trophy. Are you Mark Blake by any chance?

Embers...

As they got further into the competition, more first team players started to play, which is why it's not unrealistic to think that their best XI available will start the final.

Which is why benno_900 mentioned the most recent round they played in this competition, against a team from the Championship, that was full strength. :thumbsu:

You can go back to when they played Newcastle all you want Embers, the fact is, they'll be playing full strength because they want to win.

Embers...

As they got further into the competition, more first teamers started to play, which is why it's not unrealistic to think that their best XI available will start the final.

But they didnt. Only in the game Benno stated did they play anything even close to a starting 11. The likes of Sagna, Clichy, Song, Cesc started 1 out of 6 games. Why the hell should a bloke like Denilson step aside having played every minute of every game just so a glory hog like Cesc Fabregas can hold up a trophy he didnt contribute to winning?

Trophy or not theres the right thing to do not only for team moral but for the competition itself. If Arsenal start the likes of Nasri, Sagna and Clichy they should scrap the competiton altogether next year because it couldnt get any lower than this

But if Fabregas plays in the final and they win, then he's contributed to winning the trophy.

But if Fabregas plays in the final and they win, then he's contributed to winning the trophy.

Thats a long bow to draw. Even the team bus driver has technically contributed to the team winning the trophy but some contribute more than others in the real world and in the real world those who contribute the most reap the most rewards. Well atleast thats the way it should be.

We all laughed at Bolton when they literally sent over there reserve/youth side in the UEFA cup at the time but atleast they were upfront and honest about not wanting to win it. Teams who just go through the motions, randomly end up in the final and then pretend they are depserate to win it arnt really worthy of respect. They are the liars.

Someone post that embers pic. The one with the actual Andrew Embley.
