I particularly liked that Bolts emphasised twice that he, above all else, wants to see Harry succeed. This is aimed at the dialogue around it being some personal grudge etc.

..although the first thing commented on on SEN by Terry Wallace was that he didn't explain why 'he went out of the team'.

In fairness to Wallace, having been there with Richmond, he was actually really supportive of Bolton and how hard it is in his position. He gave him credit for sticking to the 'party line' (injuries, rebuild, know where we at etc).

Wallace said you are damned if you don't and damned if you do. If you stick to the hard club line you are accused by journos and supporters of being boring and repetitive. If you change then you are accused of sending mixed messages (eg: this guy is all over the shop, has no plan etc).

100% this. Prior to today the club had said nothing of substance. Know it all’s here came up with all sorts of other reasons which couldn’t have been addressed sufficiently to warrant a return this week (unless posture in a stadium seat was one of his many and varied failings).
