I kinda agree re Marchbank too. What's his job in the team? He's not locking someone down, he's not spoiling, he's not intercepting enough and he's not providing rebound. As much as plow cops it for poor decisions or whatever it is, at least Plowman is constantly involved.

He’s not going that well, but he has played much better footy for Carlton than he’s showing at the moment. Still only 22 so can be afforded a little leniency but I definetely expect more in regard to intercepting and rebound given he’s not taking the main forwards

He's proven everything at Hawthorn, if he could win a flag at another club his done it all as a coach.

I was at the game yesterday and focused on LOB a bit. Was constantly available in a pocket or the far wing for a transition with heaps of space and consistently ignored. Players like Marchbank would hold the ball for 30 seconds and bomb long. Hard to have an impact as an outside winger when you’re playing your role and not being utilised.

The interesting thing will be the next 2 games. Pies and GWS are along with the Cats looking very strong. And I am rating the Pies as the best at this stage.
But if we lose the next 2 games, but are super competitive, what will the narrative be after round 9. We will be sitting 1-8 and probably on the bottom of the ladder, but will have been far from disgraced against 2 top teams. Glass half full or half empty?
