The membership stuff was clever from a PR point of view, particularly in an environment where no one was actually going to the footy anyway. Cost nothing, got more people engaged with the club.
Yeah but it relied on football success to manifest real long term benefit

If Cook won't take the role. Forget Cerra and offer Simon Garlick from Freo a deal he can't refuse. He has the all the makings.

Honestly think he had the best intentions
But he was a new age CEO that just didn't have it in him to make hard calls or call out poor performance.

His excuse mongering and Molly coddling bred a culture of mediocrity across the club.

Destroyed the value of our memberships too.

Wish him the best, however he was just another poor appointment in a string of poor appointments from a terrible club board
Tried to turn us into Richmond reserves, stuck his nose into recruitment, and watered down our memberships. That’s his legacy.

This is a great day. Cain Liddle was talented but destructive. One of those guys who thought he was an expert in all areas and would not stay in his lane
I am so relieved

Cain is a solid marketing executive but you need to have more as a CEO. You need to manage the relationship and expectations between the board and the football department. You need to employ good people underneath you to run the football department. You need to call out poor performance. Unfortunately Cain failed on a number of these metrics and the decision to relieve him of his duties was overdue.

This. It was a house of cards that would have fallen next year. Fortunately for Liddle, he won't be blamed for any downfall next year now and can claim it fell because he was sacked.

Having said that, if we have big appointments still to be made, the fall might not come at all. In that case, Liddle can claim his method was sustainable.

He lost me over his rubbish explanation for the SOS sacking, and his undermining of recruiters by implementing a recruiting panel that he sat on.

I can't say I am disappointed by this news.

Mods, can we start a "Bring Back Sos" page please with a voting system. Yes / Yes Please.

As much as I love SOS, I'm going to let the club do their thing and not support fan initiated pressure that may alter the course we are on.
